iIt was a beautiful 85 degree day -- nice night to eat on patio.
I decided to do picnic "to go" for friends like we do when we do "progressive" get together except it was takeout:
sausage, peppers & onions, fresh baguette
tomato, cucumber & onion salad
Egg Potato Salad
Baked Beans
deviled eggs
sheetcake brownies
I invited my friends to come by (not inside) bring containers & enjoy a picnic at home! They came by yesterday and dropped off the containers. I packed them and told them pick up time.
(Hmmm most of them have LNLs!)
I delivered to my friends who are "self-isolating" (just delivered to the porch.)
It was just fun because we needed some "fun"! Plus, it kept me busy enjoying cooking as I am getting a little antsy...
I wanted to add: We are all good friends, all live in same community & have no "problems" with concern about preparation. We are trying to figure out Easter dinner like all of us will be home.
Our idea is to have each person pick something and do the same thing...

@homedecor1 You're a nice neighbor, and your eggs look delish !

Don't you want to be my neighbor?

Ofcourse....everyone is invited to join in ...just have your containers ready and dropped off the day before!!!
🙂🙂🙂

A nice gesture, but right now if I did not prepare it in my kitchen I am not eating it.

@homedecor1 That is a wonderful "social" idea! By bringing a little joy to your friends with such a gracious act of kindness, your "light" shines a little brighter.
I really LOVE that idea, and would never have thought of it, but will certainly entertain something as sweet as that for some of my close friends-especially those in need of a pick-me-up😊
~~~All we need is LOVE💖
that's fine but I prefer to think as this post as a "positive" thing.
Plus, as I said we are all good friends and I can't even count how many meals we've shared over 10 years at each other's homes...I actually would trust these friends with my life!
@homedecor1 :I understand. I assume you do not live in NY or NJ as I do.
I would not even eat food from my own son's house: he live just a few miles from me.
Around here, trusting friends with your life is to be taken literally.
NJ is my home state & yes, I'm certainly aware of the situation. My kids & family, relatives are there. The rest of my family is in PA.
As I said, in our area we haven't had any reports. Which is probably because we live in a gated community & no one is socializing.
Believe me if I was still in NJ (I left a few days before the outbreak) I'd be just as concerned but maybe crazy I would gladly eat from my kids houses. Only thing they wouldn't even think about feeding me or going out -- they have "self quarantined"! 😉
Please stay safe & healthy our 🙏🏻 are with everyone at this time.
