Yes, not a free delivery but if you had to drive 30 miles to get to a WM then you'd be spending money on the car (gas plus everything else it takes to drive a car) and the time it takes to get there. WM pies are still a bargain even with the added charges.

It is free delivery, no tipping if you add the "In Home" option to your Walmart+. I paid $40 for the year adding it to the Walmart+ when they had it for half price, and $50/yr for the Walmart+.

You do not tip on these "In Home" deliveries because they are Walmart employees. 

Sometimes it comes the same day or the next!

With only the Walmart+, those are delivered from an outside contractor and you should tip.

I know some say they do not have this option in their area.

So if you have more than 4 deliveries a year, saying you tip $5-$10 for each delivery, depending on the size, you have already saved if you add the "In Home" to the "Walmart+" because you do not tip on these deliveries.

They have figured out a great way to get people to sign up.

I don't use it often just because the Walmart store is so close and I like to go.

What I really like it for is not so much the whole grocery order but like if I need one thing, like bird seed, or coffee.

The only thing I don't like about "In Home," is they have a 4 hour window to deliver and that is half the day. You don't have to be home, but I wouldn't want a bunch of groceries outside my door.

@Etoile308 I'm surprised.  I never purchased or tried a Costco pie but have had other items Costco makes and they were for the most part pretty good.

My brother in law loves to shop at Costco.  He picks up a big chocolate (everything is big there) cake at Christmas and it is delicious.

I bought the pair of pies for the past couple of years, they were DH's favorites, peach and blueberry and since we were traveling in the camper on the Thanksgiving holiday I could easily include themm when we stopped for our dinner that night. I baked one at night and then reheated it for dessert. They are really good and loaded with fruit! I hate to bake and pie crust is way beyond my ability-I've tried for many years!

And so true about the car expense. Using Walmart+ has saved me a lot of money on time and car expense. A lot - as in the thousands / year.

I am curious to know the kind of pies you bought from Costco @Etoile308 

For holiday dinners, I'm always asked to bring Costco pumpkin and pecan pies.

@RespectLife.  I did a 0 tip the other day.  I ordered a large amount (for me) of groceries, then on a separate order a big bottle of expensive eye vitamins for which my insurance paid.  I did the standard tip for the food but wasn't going to pay $8 for the driver to carry a bottle of pills to my front door with the groceries.

@spabar, but no retailer I've seen uses the term shipping included, it's always referred to as free shipping. Seems that's the industry standard and the phrase customers look for.

@shy bobcat, I know for certain I bought an apple pie. Felt the filling lacked flavor and needed more apples. I know I didn't think it was worth the calories. My main criteria is whether it has quality ingredients and the taste is worth the calories.

I don't remember the second pie. That's how memorable it was. 

I seldom have desserts so when I do I want something I think is really good.
