I am sorry but it seems nearly $33 dollars for a 10 inch pie is so over priced? Who pays for better yet who can afford that price? The prices of pre made foods just amazes me.

I've paid almost $20 for a pie at a local bakery. Lots of good local bakeries in my mid sized city so I have no need to order desserts from the Q. The cost of ingredients and labor have increased the price of sweets at my local bakeries. I'd still rather support my local bakers.

@bargainsgirl Could you let us know what pie you have in mind? I think the 10 inch pies on QVC are quite a bit more than $33.00

Yes I agree. Most store bought pies are usually $18-20 near me. I would support locals too but I prefer cakes and bake my own!

@bargainsgirl I don't think that's a bad price for two pies including shipping. I agree with @wilma many local bakeries might have good pies in the $20.00 range, I make my own pies, and I would charge $20.00 for one of my pies, because of the pricey ingredients and the electricity and time involved. For those who don't have many available sources for pie, the David's price seems ok to me.

I like to make my own desserts too, but sometimes I buy sweets at a local bakery if I don't have the time or ingredients. There are a few treats that they do very well.

The pies are frozen and shipped in a Styrofoam cooler with dry ice by UPS Next Day or Second Day Air. This alone is very expensive, probably $20+.

Insanity!! Then you have to bake it!!
I'll stick with my 58 ounce pumpkin pie from Costco. Six bucks and absolutely delicious. And it's ready to eat.
