OMG----- how I LOVE my new recent TSV Vitamix!! Been using it like crazy. However, the 64 oz container is very tall  and really big capacity, so I bought a 32 oz container from Am*azon for $39 that came with the lid, a blade assembly wrench but no blade. I changed out the blades from the 64 oz to the 32 oz and now I have the perfect  size for my morning smoothies. All was easy to do; I watched a youtube vid on how to change the blades. Easy---- and also bought the shorter tamper too. On to making peanutbutter and almond milk!!

I'm glad you love your machine!

Speaking of peanut butter, does anyone know of a place to buy peanuts in bulk?  It could get really expensive to get them at a place like Whole Foods, etc.  When Jan was making peanut butter on QVC, he said he used a combination of plain peanuts and honey roasted.  Sounds delish!

Topaz - Have you tried Amazon?  I buy a fair amount of bulk stuff like that on Amazon and definitely save over the prices at my grocery store.

Thanks, CB, I'll do a search on Amazon to see what I come up with.  I've been meaning to make peanut butter for awhile, but just haven't gotten my butt in gear to buy the peanuts!  LOL.

For anyone who has made PB in their Vitamix, how hard is it to clean afterward?  I've been afraid to try making peanut butter because it just seems like it would be a big mess to clean out of the blades.  Does just doing the usual "run it with a little bit of dish soap and water" thing work when it's peanut butter you're trying to clean up?

@shoesnbags  Haven't tried it yet but someone else mentioned they just make a smoothie with PB in it right after and it cleans itself that way.

Ha ha, that would probably work!

Good idea about making a smoothie after peanutbutter--rats!!! I didn't do that--- but I put hot water and dish soap in mine and let it whirl for a couple minutes. It didn't clean up to the  top of the container totally,  but did a good job around the blades. Just a quick swish with my dish brush and it was clean. I bought a 14 oz  jar of roasted peanuts that was $2.99 at my grocery store. I think I pay a little more for a jar of all ready made p/b. I go to--- nuts dot com--- for bulk stuff too.

Hey @wagirl, did your recipe book come with a peach daiquiri recipe?  Jan made it during the demos, but he didn't say the ingredient amounts, just the ingredients.

I love my Vitamix and use it daily.  My only complaint is that, when using it to mix solids, (such as the peanuts, beans, etc) it is very difficult to get everything out from around the blades.  I use a small flexible spatula but that still is not ideal - I wish there were an easier way.
