Re: measuring cup for egg cooker

You don't mention how you're wanting to fix your eggs, @bajsf, but for poached I use 1/4 cup...halfway between medium and hard.  Hope you get that measuring cup back soon.  These little item-specific doo dads can be a real pain to keep organized!Woman Wink  HTH's

Re: measuring cup for egg cooker

Hope you got it figured out. I have the little WP rice cooker. I keep the cup & cord inside the cooker when I'm not using it.

Oh, thanks! That reminds me, I probably have a hundred cat toys under the fridge.

I was trying to think how to get them out LOL!

Re: measuring cup for egg cooker

While on the topic of egg coookers (I LOVE mine), I noticed my measuring cup had a teeny pinhole  and dripped.. BTW, Mine is the EggSpress...

I called the company, and they sent me a new one, which is not at all like the one I have.. it is a different shape and the measurements are actually different- weird thing is both seem to work..

My probem.. the lines are  simply stamped into plexiglass -not darkened at all- and they are SO hard to read! I darkened the most "used" ones with felt pen...

Anyone else have this problem?

I have a coat closet across from my kitchen that I use as a pantry.  I have one of the egg cookers also, and the measuring cup is thin, tall and clear.  It fell off the shelf and it took me days to find it.   Finally took some items out of the closet and had to use a flashlight to see it.  It is now in a cabinet in my kitchen

I'm glad you got it, bajsf!

I have two egg cookers, MCM's and Eggspress(from Sams'Club).

I can store all pieces inside. The Eggspress can be twisted to be locked, plus the markings didn't rub off like on MCM's. I had to use a Sharpie on that cup.

@Mothertrucker, somewhat off topic but I'd like to share a hint.  I have to medicate one of my cats twice a day and the numbers on the syringe wear off quickly.  At first I just used a felt pen to make a line at the dosage but it didn't last all that long.  The syringe I use now I marked with a line at the dosage then wrapped the syringe tube in clear Gorilla Tape.  The dosage line stays intact and even with being washed twice a day the tape has remained clear and in place--just like the day I applied it.

I've used this approach in the past with other tapes but they did not last.  The Gorilla Tape is unbeatable even when it gets wet.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.
