Re: looking for a good rolling pin

For the last 3 years since my house flooded, I came across my stainless steel water bottle made by Manna.  It makes the perfect rolling pin.  I love it better than my maple rolling pin I lost in the flood.  Easy to clean.

@sunshine45

I'd go to Nasco (the catalog Home Economics teachers bought from) unless you have a good supply store where you live.

After that, Bed, Bath And Beyond.

I do like a french rolling pin.  Since there are no handles, you have much better control and feel of the dough.  I also have a marble rolling pin that I use with a marble slab.  This is excellent when it is important to keep the dough cold.  I do not like a rolling pin with handles which is probably what most people use.

I have several, but my favorite is similar to a french rolling pin but it is not tapered on the ends.

I don't care for the ones with ball bearings.

Mine too.  I use it with Fat Daddio's roling pin guide strips I bought on Amazon many years ago.
