I can not stand the stuff but in this part of Texas the below bakery is what everyone likes.

One here in Tyler, one in Lindale, and the original shop in Corsicana Texas. Been around for decades.

I would love to find a recipe for a ""white"" fruitcake without nuts. Pleae post if you know of anything similar. Thanks.

Hi Perkup, you might try an English cookbook, as white fruitcake is their traditional wedding cake. Boy, I'm saving this thread as I love fruitcake, and Collins St. Is my favorite, but the others look yummy, too.

So very bummed out that the monks at the Berryville, Virginia abbey sent out a notice this year they were not selling their AWESOME fruitcakes. I am already in withdrawal and not sure if I will try a substitute. Maybe they will offer next year, I am serious, they are really good.

Try the Gethsemani monks in Trappist, Kentucky for their fruitcakes. monks dot org or gethsemanifarms dot org

We ordered from the Gethsemani monks and it was wonderful. Thanks for the info!
