Right now my kitchen smells like chex party mix. The aroma of butter, Worcester sauce and garlic. I have to restrain myself because if I start to nibble , there will be no end in sight. Fortunately I have help eating it . I make it once a year and it's such a treat. I'm a savory over sweets gal.

Enjoy it!  Whatever floats your boat.  I confess I've never had this.  I like salty things too but chex party mix?  I dunno.  I guess I'd have to try it but it's never been in front of me.

@PinkyPetunia.  You don't know that you've missed.  Quickly assemble the ingredients and make a batch.  It's not breakfast food.

I LOVE chex mix too!! And yes it an be salty, but for the amount you make---not bad at all. there is an over sized endcap at my local grocery store devoted to all things chex mix ---it is pretty spectacular!!! YUMMY!!!

The original savory Chex Mix recipe is great, but there are soooo many other options to try! Just look online or on the special holiday-designed boxes on the shelves at this time of year for fun recipe variations. Most people are also familiar with the Muddy Buddies option, which is quite tasty, and one of my favorite variants of that is a Lemon Buddies recipe. In general, I'm a big fan of what I call "grownup cereals," which includes Chex; during a recent sale, I picked up two boxes each of Corn, Rice, Wheat, and Honey Nut Chex, and I have been enjoying cereal as a quick lunch during the busy holiday season and am looking forward to trying a couple of new "mix" recipes in the next couple of weeks.  Smiley Happy

I make it with Crispex cereal so I don't have to buy 3 boxes of Chex. I add a bag of Ghardetto's snack mix, pecans & cashews with the butter seasoning used in the original chex mix. I always make it for New Years.

Happy New Year's.
