Ennui - thank you!

I love Temecula! I used to go on frequent day trips there when I lived in Los Angeles.

ennui1, I liked the article from Slate, thanks. I keep my eyes peeled for local wine tasting events. These are fun, and although not cheap, are usually a pretty good buy. I like French wines, always have, and many from California and around the world. I'm happy to pay for a bottle of special wine for a gift or special occasion.

But it's easy to come up with a good wine for $15 or more. For ordinary nights, I go for Two-buck-Chuck as often as not, even if it's a bit more than two bucks now. Very acceptable, sometimes even really good. And Macaroni Grill has a decent house Italian red that goes for $3 a glass during happy hour. Again, not great, but quite palatable and the price isn't a barrier to having it whenever I want to.

I drink on an average three or four glasses of wine a week so I am not a wine expert by any means. The one I have liked the best is Moscato D'Asti, Bricco Riella .... white wine from Italy. I don't like any other alcoholic beverages but find this enjoyable when dining out with DH. We dine out a lot since he retired.

Mother Superior called all the nuns together and said to them, "I must tell you all something. We have a case of gonorrhea in the convent."

"Thank God," said an elderly nun at the back. "I'm so tired of chardonnay."

Cute, ennui!

I'm headed to Trader Joe's on Sunday. I'm going to pick up one of the wines that was recommended early on.

I would disagree, respectfully, maryland does have good wines; it is all a matter do taste, of course. Black ankle has won awards for their wines.

Hi Adelh! Those are Maryland wineries. Maryland doesn't have good wines.

A wine club outside of Maryland is not allowed to delivery here.

Almost every winery in the country has won awards for their wines.

I love wine. I really love a heavy bold red. I will drink whites but I love a good red. I live about 30 minutes from Napa and enjoy going up to the wineries doing the tasting--out to dinner thing. My favorite Merlot is Duckhorn but only do that one on special occasions.

What are your favorite bold reds for "everyday?"

I picked up a new wine when I got my case of vouvray.

The Original Dark Horse Chardonnay.

rich, buttery and spicy with a hint of oak. I'm getting a case of this when I need to re-up!
