Ahhh, what a pleasure it is to pour a glass of wine in the evening. Something nice that can happen every day, along with the other special things like waking up, breathing, stretching, making coffee, cooking, singing, cat petting, talking, laughing, working, playing, eating...all that and then there's wine! Life is good.

We are not terribly far from the Lake Erie grape growing region - Welchs is located there - so we try to support the local wineries there. We usually buy a case of Lake Erie wines when we are here for the summer to take home to Florida. grape growing and esp. grape harvesting is a true art form - so much more difficult than other farming. i love when the grapes are getting ready to be picked and as you walk or drive by the fields and the breeze brings the scent of them! Lucious.

had some wine last night when we were out.....chardonnay by bogle vineyards (clarksburg, yolo county california).....it was pretty good and relatively inexpensive for a glass of wine around here. we were eating seafood so it really paired well with that.

I've tasted Bogle! It's a lovely wine, but it sat in my mouth the next day. All day. Nothing I did got rid of it.

We are into the box wines!! We buy mostly Cabernet and Pinot Noir. I love it in the box because I can help myself whenever, and not have to open a bottle. We went to a wine tasting event and the instructor there did tell me that the box wines are very good too.

gloriajean, I'm the Wine Coordinator for the Farmer's Market. I "have" to go to tastings and distributor parties, etc.

A distributor had a volunteer appreciation party at her house, which was close by where I live. I tasted the Black Box wine.

I must say, I was astounded by how good it was.

I haven't bought any since, but I always threaten BFF with it.

HonnyBrown - it must be fun to go to those wine tastings and distributor parties. Yes, those box wines are good, and so much more affordable for us - I was to a winery this summer, and bought a couple bottles, and they were $15.00 a piece!! Wow! That's high. At the liquor stores they aren't that high. I researched which wines were the best ones for our hearts - Cabernet - No. 1, with Pinot Noil close second. So I have both! Two glasses a night is all I can have it says, which is fine with me! What about you? What is your favorite?
