I love wine! I like Chardonnay the best and a few red blends. I can't drink cheap wine though. I usually drink Kendall Jackson, Simi, Sonoma Cutrer, Cakebread or Cupcake (for a cheaper one). K. J and Cupcake are not expensive, and they are about $10 to $12. I have tried to drink cheaper wine, but I just don't like it. I love the K.J. higher end one--that's about $22 (their Grand Reserve).

I won't routinely pay much over $20 for a bottle of wine. The ones I buy most frequently are Simi, K.J. and Sonoma Cutrer (which is a bit higher).

I do like Cupcake Red Blend, and that's only $10.

DH will drink $3 or $4 a bottle red. I just can't do it.

in general, i cant do it either winamac.....cheap wine or cheap alcohol. for some reason i almost always get headaches when i do the cheaper stuff.

me too--it's not even just the headaches--it just tastes cheap. I won't drink it if that's all that's around, LOL. I just can't do it.

LOL i am the same way.....i will just pass on the drinks. Wink

Has anyone tried Cupcake's Red Velvet wine? It's light and spicy.

They also have an white Angel Food Cake that's just okay.

Get your flu shot...because I didn't.

Hi ladies ~ I think I just bought a bottle of that Grand Reserve, win! Will have to try it soon.

My very favorite wine is Louis Jadot Beaujolais Villages, but I started getting severe headaches and allergic reactions to red wine, so I have become a white wine convert. I switch between Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

While I will be the first to admit I don't spend huge amounts of money per bottle, I am very picky about wine labels. I don't buy any labels with flip flops, bare feet or kangaroos. {#emotions_dlg.lol}

That's the one I like. I was not calling it by the right name. That's one of my favorite inexpensive red wines. It's a blend, and it's DELISH!

I need a suggestion for a wine, Honny -

Something white or rose and light for the summer. Not with dinner, just for sipping on the balcony when friends come over.

Something that tastes like "summer"????

Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated (and anyone else who wants to chime in too!)

terrier, I would suggest a Pinot Grigio. It is described as "crisp" and I agree; to me it is a summer wine. It also pairs very well with hors d'oeuvres. I don't often drink it, so I can't recommend a brand, but when in doubt, I always ask the employees at the store I patronize. They have a wealth of information and truly enjoy sharing their knowledge.

terrier, magic's recommendation of a Pinot Grigio is perfect! It's a white wine, and summer in a glass.

If you can find Comlumbia Crest Pinot Grigio (under $10), your friends might never leave.

Any other Pinot Grigio recommendations?

That's the Ramona Wine from Real Housewives!

No, I won't try her label...in fact, I'll stay away from it.

Do I chill this? If so, how cold?

I'm not an expert. Just started drinking wine about 2 years ago.

I like the sweet wine. Sweet Walter red or white.

I got Layer Cake (i think that was the name) one time and it tasted like dirt!! Or how dirt should taste!!
