I love wine! I like Chardonnay the best and a few red blends. I can't drink cheap wine though. I usually drink Kendall Jackson, Simi, Sonoma Cutrer, Cakebread or Cupcake (for a cheaper one). K. J and Cupcake are not expensive, and they are about $10 to $12. I have tried to drink cheaper wine, but I just don't like it. I love the K.J. higher end one--that's about $22 (their Grand Reserve).

Did you know that in blind taste tests, people generally prefer inexpensive wines? Maybe you just need to stop looking at the price tag and worrying about whether it's 'high end.' Wink

oh puhhhhleeeze ennui. I simply can't drink "cheap wine". Wink I don't think $22 a bottle is "high-end" anyway. To me, "high end" is more like $80 on up which I won't do. The "higher-end" KJ simply tastes better to me, and my taste test is the only one that matters.

Who stated they "simply look at the price tag" anyway???{#emotions_dlg.confused1}

I did. If you cover all the labels (and the price tags), you probably won't know the difference. But, hey, spend the extra money if it makes you feel better.

I've had bottles that cost $100, and was not impressed.

Perhaps a bottle of rose instead

I, too, have had over $100 per bottle wine, and I'm usually not impressed either. It's too oaky for me (the whites). I prefer the $12 to $20 or so. My taste tests tell me that.

And I've done the taste tests with the labels covered. I didn't like the $5 wines.

I like rieslings! I always preferred red wines but then began getting severe headaches and have had to unfortunately stop drinking them.

I used to drink white zinfandel but it began giving me horrible acid reflux. So, there went that one.

I love wine but can't drink it very much.

I do not like dry wines nor overly sweet ones. Can someone make some recommendations for me? I guess middle of the road or in between.

Thanks!

I got back from vacation, where they served a good pinot on our ship. They used a lot of moderately priced wines as wine of the day, but the wine steward was very clever. We had Five Rivers Pinot Noir and it was so acceptable, I just drank that with meals. It has a lot of light fruit, raspberries, strawberry.

You may like a pinot grigio.

That's the Ramona Wine from Real Housewives!

No, I won't try her label...in fact, I'll stay away from it.

Do I chill this? If so, how cold?

Generally speaking, white wines are removed from the fridge 20 minutes before drinking. Red wines are chilled 20 minutes before drinking.
