Hosting the food shows without so much talking with mouth full, handling & stirring food with fingers & making faces when tasting food??

QVC aside, when did it become ok to handle food with your fingers? I see that a lot on TV and IRL. Hand someone some food instead of serving it with a fork or some kind of spatula.
Is it just me? Most of the food shows on TV do it. Every restaurant I visit, people use gloves AND serve with a utensil.

I turn the channel when she is on. She looks like she is ready to dive in before she talks about the item. I do like to listen to Jill to do the food shows.

I don't know which is the best because I don't sit glued to cooking shows but Paula Deen is the worst, immediately followed by Wolfgang Puck.

Almost everyday there is a critical post about food shows. Why do people watch them if they are so offensive. Too expensive, poor hosting, poor vendors, eating, touching, too many, too little, on and on.
The food shows are some of my favorites, the hosts seem to enjoy tasting the products, the convenience is a plus, the cost generally acceptable and with a few exceptions the products are good. I have a very small appetite, but enjoy seeing these presentations and I buy a lot for the convenience.

I had to quit watching the food shows, why the bare hands? pulling food apart with no gloves? and then the hosts running over like a bunch of sea gulls to devour everything.....gross!

I can't watch the current food shows when SF and DW are on. They both act like they've never seen food before. I just used to check "items recently on air" (when that was working!).

I never watch the food shows. I don't purchase pre made food or need anymore kitchen appliances.

I prefer kitchen/food shows to any of the others because I don't have to worry about sizing being different or wrong for me. To be honest, I can't watch DV - too much talking with mouth full, too silly. Tired of the constant "How many in this show?" Is this an ego trip or something? And the faces??
I enjoy Carolyn, sometimes Jane and Mary Beth, and am very impressed with Mary on her new show. She seems far more interested in the products than she is in the food. I like that. And she has nice manners. A rare thing. I think she's been reading this board. I don't watch Sharon or the Dans on kitchen shows, but I enjoy both Dans on other shows. Rick manages to keep it light, sometimes a little too light. But he's always easy to watch.
I guess we all have our favorites and our disaster areas.

I can't watch Wheeler do the food shows, he falls on that food like a starving man, it's off putting.
