Re: What's on you Christmas dinner menu?

Our Christmas get-together is going to be very low key this year.  I’m recovering from surgery and am not allowed to do any kind of housework, no lifting anything heavier than a gallon of milk, no bending or twisting.  That said, it’s going to be up to DH to get the house ready and take care of the food.  DD will help him when she and her family arrive but I will be directing and guiding before that.  We’re having easy foods this year; cold shrimp & coctail sauce, cheese & crackers, hot taco dip w/chips, Hawaiian ham & cheese sliders, strawberry pretzel jello, and store bought cheesecake.

Re: What's on you Christmas dinner menu?

@RedTop  That sounds like a really nice meal, especially since you are not certain as to the number of people coming.

Deviled eggs are one of my favorites and two different meatballs selections is a great idea.  Rachel Ray always mentions and shares her "meatballs for the holidays" on her show at this time of year.

I'm still deciding what we will have.  Waiting for the food flyers that come in today's paper before making my final selections!

Re: What's on you Christmas dinner menu?

We still have not decided. Waiting to find out what my MIL is doing. I don't know if we are going over there if we are making stuff to take over there or what. I'm just going to stay home at this point since nobody knows anything. DH asked his mom yesterday but she said she has not got that far yet. Seriously I'm sick of the last minute crappola. The stores are busy at this poing & I'm not going back. LOL!!! I told DH from now on I'm just staying home since it's so much more relaxing. I'm just not dealing with this last minute stuff anymore. DH can go to his moms if that's what he wants. We can make our food on Christmas Eve.
