Re: What's Cooking in October 2016?

Hello Gals...

I have not posted here in awhile...

Nice to see some of the ladies...Winifred, Preds...Several others that I remember.

Monday, we had NY Steaks on the grill, a loaded baked potato and a nice green salad.  It hit the spot.

Tuesday, I made a vegetarian "Eggplant Stew" (no meat) it was delicious.  With some great artisan fresh baked bread for dipping.  It was yummy!

Wednesday Menu, Pork Chops are the plan...Probably with some mashed potatoes, fresh green beans.

Nice to see you in the Kitchen Bella. Preds, as usual, we thank you for getting us in gear. I will be back when I figure out what for dinner. Sigh, While I do not mind cooking am at the age I would prefer that I not HAVE to do it. LOL.  Have a good day everyone - and eat well. See you later.

Re: What's Cooking in October 2016?

Well I did not get back here yesterday - did not fix anything special - my household was going a bit insane I think. LOL. Tonight I will put that prepackaged Roast, veggies in the slow cooker. I got the pre-packaged roasts - they are small - with carrots, potatoes and onions at Aldi's a few weeks back. Had never seen anything like that and it is delicious. A bit small but just enough for three - perhaps 4 people but no extra. Very very good - I fixed green beans also as a go with. Yummy.

Only getting to about 79 today - temps are dropping but I can handle that very well. Nights have been quite chilly for some weeks now. Coldest time is about 5 in the morning - it is freezing but when daylight appears, it jumps up quickly.

Hope all have a good day - eat well.

Re: What's Cooking in October 2016?

I will be baking this weekend.  Coworker is demanding my brownies again which I think is hysterical.  He's the chef at the restaurant and he can't over how good my brownies are.  It's a store bought mix not even scratch.  It makes me LOL every time.

My niece is turning six and has requested a chocolate cake with vanilla icing for her birthday next week so that will also be on the list.

I am going food shopping tonight to finally get some real ingredients instead of the black beans I have been living off of.  The weather seems to be turning finally and my chili may now become a reality.  Smiley Happy

Re: What's Cooking in October 2016?

Last night, chicken thighs roasted in the oven with lemon slices, garlic slices, butter and white wine.  I baked a large yam, slided it into thick slices, and browned slowly in butter and XVOO.  DH is off sugar recently, otherwise, I would have sauteed in butter and sugar to get a yummy crust.  Also peas.
