Well haven't cooked much this year just getting back into routine...so I took out what I thought was "boneless pork chops" turned out it was 6 nicely wrapped chicken thighs.
I decided to make my fav recipe - Chicken Cacciatore (my grandmoms recipe) -- oh my smells so good...is it dinner time yet!!!
Im going to serve with good mashed potatoes since spouse is not a pasta lover - I'll enjoy pasta with the leftovers!

That chicken Cicciatorre sounded mighty good to me. Haven't had that in many years and have never made it. You got back into cooking with a bang homedecor1- nothing wrong with that.
We had frozen dinners - try to keep a few in the freezer for me "do not want to do any cooking" mealtimes. Works. Me? I cannot stand them but everyone else loves them. Go figure.
Another COLD morning. No rain due today but it will be back starting tomorrow with a bang - we can use it. Did get some of those monster broad leaf weeds pulled up yesterday. Only was able to get some as I froze and my hands no longer work well any more. Heck getting old.
Come on people - Soushi - we miss you!!!

I made popcorn the last few days, havn't done it in years in a stovetop popper which has a lid with a stirrer, cooks in a minute or so. I have decided it is a good way to snack as it is so low calorie, good fiber, and supplies the chew factor which I need, without butter. I bought Flavacol at Amazon which is a salt with some flavor and with this, I can do without butter. One cup is about thirty-one calories, so can really stuff my face and be safe, lol.
Other than this, have just been cooking simply, last night beef patties from Q with a salad, Sunday grilled chicken breasts opened and flattened topped with cheddar cheese, DH had it on a roll, I didn't, and a salad, and once or so a week the potstickers on a bed of sauteed cabbage.
It's raining today, so cozy in front of the tree. ![]()

Tonight had orange chicken, buttered carrots and potatoes with onions and bell peppers Very tasty but the little girl would have NO part of it. She wanted some more Top Ramen. To me that stuff is gross but her MD says give her what she wants - times have changed. Baby food is stopped when they are so very young and she is more than picky about regular people food. LOL. Ricky did not fare any too well either. He has been on a rampage today and it really bothers me and it is being worked on but we just do not have the answers yet.
Got absolutely freezing here right before dark. Had to zip to the store - hate that as for most of my life have NEVER had to zip anywhere. Again, times have changed but at any rate is sure is cold out there. Tomorrow the rain is suppose to start.
Hope all had a great day. By the way, nothing wrong with popcorn for a meal - have done it more than once with kids in the house. LOL.

Your food looks good Pooky.Every now and then I get very irritated with myself. It is storming here right now and colder than cold. For the first time in years I have NO stew meat in the freezer. No, I do not pay the horribly high price for stew meat but I buy extra roasts and cut it up - lots cheaper. I did not do that this year - guess too much stuff going on. Darn it. Perfect weather for a good stew - easy to fix and easier to eat in this weather. I have a few roasts in the freezer but am NOT going to thaw any out to cut - now that is too much work.
I did get out at about 5, however, and cut up cardboard to put in the trash containers. I NEVER put an entire box in the container as they take up too much room and you cannot close the lid and the trash companies can red tag you for that. Amazing, however, how many people do that. Still a bit wet - Davey was suppose to have done that last night - also his Mother said she would help cut it up. Nope, old Grandma here did it but it is all out to the street for pick up. I am still drying out. LOL.
Hope one and all have a great day.

I DID fix that stew and it was soooooooooooo good. Nothing better than home made stew. Have the pot still on the stove sitting on super low - my Mother and grandmother use to do that. Will keep it there for today and then if anything is left will freeze it for later use.
Obviously rained a good deal last night and I sure did not hear it as I usually wake up if it rains - not this time. Everything soaked outside with puddles standing in our old beat up street. From what the experts say, rain most of the day.
Hope one and all ate well.
