Hotter than you know what today - 106, humidity high and it is still hot even at almost 8:30 at night. Actually right now it is 101 - this is dumb. Tomorrow suppose to be worse. Ugh.

Hello All

Have a pot roast in the slow cooker, works for this hot, hot, weather thinking about noodles for a go with & some sliced tomatoes

The storms have pretty much bi-passed us, we really need the rain, I'm starting to sound like Winifred but her situation is much worse than here, I just don't want to drive up the water bill, I do water the plants just not the lawn like I used to, now on a meter so it makes a difference.

Just cut up some cantaloupe, not very good, either I can't pick em or they were not quality to begin with.

Happy to have garage sale done. Have some big items that need to be picked up. But so glad to have these things out of the house.

Heading to Fort Wayen to gal friends to celebrate a birthday. Need to come right back to work on this house that needs much help. And wait on the garage door man with the permenate fix for our door.

Here is a recipe I want to try. Looks easy. Could add coconut or chocolate chips, almond flavoring, what ever.

Made my dainty sugar cookies for neighbors and we ate them all with the help of all the repair men walking through the house.

Cake Mix Cookies

Ingredients:

1 (18.25 oz) box of cake mix- any kind.
2 Eggs
1/3 c. Vegetable Oil

Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375.
2. Mix cookie ingredients together.
3. Put 1 inch "globs" onto cookie sheet about 1 inch apart.
4. Cook for 7-9 minutes or until the edges start to brown.
When your cookies have cooled completely, add some frosting..

Another muggy day.    I was typing on my laptop earlier today and the fonts look altogether different.  I always bump them up on my iPad cause otherwise I can hardly see them.  I don't know what they look like when you read them.   I don't think my post count is right either.  It looks to me as if they don't move no matter how many posts I make until next sign in.    I'm trying to get my Grandsons dinner party set up.  He's decided he wants to go to Flannigans.  You can order everything there from pizza to steak.  A fun noisy place for younger ones.  We will enjoy it too.  Now I need to take a nose count to see who can make it.

Been busy past few days - and I am ready to drop now. It is NO fun to get old. Geesh. I fixed a roast a few nights ago in the slow cooker and it was super good. Have a bit left in the fridge and am encouraging the ones what like to eat on a consistent basis to PLEASE eat it up BEFORE getting something new out.  Also some other food in there and I really do not like tossing it on garbage pick up day. Happening too often as they tend to get new food out. Not enough for a complete other meal and a couple times I get the "well you get mad if we eat what is in there" and I remind them that is ONLY when I have cooked food enough for two meals - and I ALWAYS let them know when I do that. They try every trick in the book.

Temps will continue to drop and am so happy about that.

If I have things figured out I still will not have to cook tomorrow night. I may tomorrow just clean out what is left myself and combine it and toss a sliced tomato in - more than one way to clean out the fridge the the kids AND their Mother are ALL old enough to handle some of these things themselves - but they seem to be lacking in the desire to do so. Sigh.

A bit cooler today and it is magnificent but it needs to continue to drop. Heat has been horrible along with the go with of humidity.

Went to Palm Desert yesterday to hear a marvelous singer who does shows, etc. Only 118 there. Groan. We survived however.

Morning all,

Had birthday lunch yesterday, then came straight home. Some of the gals went to the movie. My car was for those of us wanting to come home.

We have 2 appointments today in Fort Wayne. Nelson has a follow up to his bladder treatment to see if his is cancer free.

I need to ask for some prayers as he is concerned, as I can understand. Asking for a clear bill of health, please.

Tell Nelson we are holding him in our thoughts and prayers. I always get anxious before an oncology appt too and it's been a long long time.   Merle managed to do something to his calf.   He couldn't get the truck hitch and trailer hitch quite lined up so he gave it a kick. Bad move. We are icing it. Of course he doesn't want to see dr nor does he want to go through workmanship comp. sigh
