My brother discovered these in Hawaii when he went there in the 70s. They are super good - my understanding is they originate in China - It is flour of some kind - LOL - stuffed with veggies and chicken. I buy them already made at Sam's and fry them in a teflon frying pan - takes perhaps 15 minutes and then push them down a bit to brown them. Then slide them out and they also come with a delicious dip - not like soy sauce at all - rather more sweet. I , for many years, thought it was Polynesian food - what do I know. You can find a lot of info on line about them
Try some - guarantee you will love them. Bu the way they are very small and not big like egg rolls or a burrito.

Sorry, I haven't been by here for awhile. Just really don't like posting here anymore. Yes, QVC has won this battle. I think they wanted it to end this way.
Copied this recipe and I do want to try it. Still haven't met the next door neighbors, I keep wanting to bake something to take over with me. Maybe I can make these cookies for them.

I'm looking for cookies as you can tell. Here is another one that looked good. We love Snickerdoodles.
Snickerdoodle Cookie Bars
Author: Frugal Antics of a Harried Homemaker
Ingredients
1 cup shortening
1½ cups sugar
3 eggs
ÂĽ cup sour cream
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
â…“ cup sugar
1 Tbsp cinnamon
Instructions
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, scraping down the bowl between eggs.
Mix in sour cream.
Combine flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, baking powder and salt.
Mix into shortening/sugar mixture.
In a separate, small bowl, combine â…“ cup sugar and cinnamon.
Sprinkle half the cinnamon sugar mix into a 9X13 pan.
Spread batter on top.
Top with remaining sugar mixture.
Bake 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
You don't want this too much like cake, so opt for less time if you need to.

I posted this on the July topic so am copying it and bringing it back here where it belongs. This was Wednesday's post.
It all sounds good. I need to decide what to fix for dinner as I promised to take dinner to a friend.
Sad story, husband was a former teacher at my school. He now has a form of dementia and she is his care giver. She broke down and cried when talking to me Sunday at church.
Sometimes it is so hard on those who have the job of caring for a loved one. At times you are frustrated and angry but then fill guilty for those feelings. I know, I'm there again.
Think I'll make the baked meatballs. We like them and haven't had them for awhile. I have the hamburger thawed. Maybe brownies and a salad will be sides. And garlic bread too.

Morning,
I just shake my head at the way this board has gone. I tried to log in twice, said it wasn't correct password BUT my name appeared at the top of the page.
So I asked for a new passage word....still waiting...and waiting...20 minutes now. So I typed in my old password and.....here I am. Go figure.
This sounds good and peaches are in season:
Peach Spread
Ingredients
7 medium peaches (2 to 2-1/2 pounds)
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup cold water
1/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Directions
1. Fill a large saucepan two-thirds full with water; bring to a boil. Cut a shallow "X" on the bottom of each peach. Using tongs, place peaches, a few at a time, in boiling water 30-60 seconds or just until skin at the "X" begins to loosen. Remove peaches and immediately drop into ice water. Pull off skins with tip of a knife; discard skins. Chop peaches.
2. In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water; let stand 1 minute. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, combine peaches, sugar and lemon juice; bring to a boil. Mash peaches. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes. Add gelatin mixture; cook 1 minute longer, stirring until gelatin is completely dissolved. Cool 10 minutes.
3. Pour into jars. Refrigerate, covered, up to 3 weeks. Yield: about 3-1/2 cups.

Glad to see you catching up, Soushi. I get those error messages because sometimes I by mistake enter HTML codes. They correct it and then the post appears Went to Costco today and signed up. Looked at hearing aids but didn't sign up for anything.

For some reason my previous post was in auto save When I sign in my email address always appears but I have to enter my password. I wish they had a keep me signed in so at least for a day you could get on and off. Maybe that will come as they keep tweaking I don't mind signing in once but it does get annoying to do it multiple times.
