Re: What's Cooking for March

Morning all,

Not much cooking here. Did buy some groceries so it will be time to cook here soon.

Weather is warm in the 80's but with a nice breeze. Hope all is well.

Re: What's Cooking for March

Fixing a couple of boneless/skinless chicken breasts with dry ranch dressing spread on them and a cut sweet onion. Also fixing some potatoes au gratin in the oven - May fix some itty bitty green peas to balance it off. All easy to do.

It got H O T here - had to ditch the thick sweat shirt and the thermal I was wearing under it - was sweating like a stuck pig. Earlier I was freezing. Tomorrow suppose to be in the high 80s - fine with me.

Went and exercised this morning - gave the treadmill a good workout.

Soushi - you are getting way too spoiled down there in Florida - actually it sounds glorious.

Re: What's Cooking for March

Morning, got my corned beef in the crock pot, I know, a day early but it works for all so today it is, of course cabbage & potatoes go with, don't have any carrots so be it unless I get out to the store

Dreary again today, we got lucky & missed the big nasty storm last nite, some rain but not a lot, supposed to be high winds today.

Hoping to get some laundry done, etc

Take Care

PS @Preds, great pix today!

Spix, you are indeed ready for St Pat's day. If you need the carrots maybe there is a nearby place you could zip to early in the a.m. Get the baby carrots they will cook faster and to me they are much better.

No Irish food in this household - just way too lazy and the old energy level ain't what it use to be.

Re: What's Cooking for March

I've got my green on and corned beef in the slow cooker. DH and I are huge fans of reuben sandwiches, so that's what I'm making for dinner tonight.  I didn't find any good rye bread in the stores (I shopped 3), so I bought some rye flour/ caraway seeds and baked my own loaf - it's delicious. We have tickets for a Celtic concert in a near by (lovingly restored) opera house tonight; can I say I've been looking forward to today for weeks.  HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!
