Re: What is the name of that gadget

I wish I knew what it was for and how to use it.  I am sure @SharkE  will be great at it.  Your rolls look so yummy.  Wish I lived in your neighborhood Smiley Very Happy.

LOL

when you make French bread you cut slits in the dough you know like you

see at Walmart. Cut on the diagonal 2-3 times.

Afraid to handle a plain razor blade don't want to have to go to hospital

think I'll get the one at King Arthur, they're on the ball, just get the cheap one

I have the top one but I wouldn't call it a razor.  I didn't know that name to it.

Not sharp enough if you use a sawing motion can deflate the dough

Like operating tools LOL you have to cut clean and not leave tattered edges

This gadget, I have it's to scoop dumplings  that's already formed all up at a time or scoot cookies off the baking pan in one motion.

Transfer cookies bunch at a time. Also, can use it to slice big mound of bread dough into halves to make 2 loaves. Lots of uses.  Shortcut tools.

How about a good old Xacto knife? I have a lame I got at King Arthur (a plastic one with a metal blade) but it doesn't work that well.  I'd take a good X-acto over it.

A retractable utility knife (box cutter) could be used, too, and then it's safe to store in a drawer. I have one that has ceramic blades that never dull or rust, made by a company called SLICE. Q sells them.

I'll bet a Kyocera ceramic knife would work too.  I saw one at HomeGods todaoy.
