What is the name of that gadget

[ Edited ]

that I saw Martha Stewart use to make slits in bread she was making and said "this is a handy little gadget", but, couldn't understand what she called it.

Could had been a French term. Sounded like 'ire' . Instead of a serrated edge knife this was a gadget that slashed right thru the dough clean and neat.

Not sure what Martha uses but my man uses a dough scraper.  At least that is what he calls them.  He has 2....

No, it was some kind of gadget that looked like a potato peeler probably had a razor blade in it to make that kind of clean cut.

I emailed King Arthur and asked them, also.

Could use that when I make French bread. She was making some kind of ol' dark brown thick bread like they have at Outback. Don't care for that stuff

They're listed as being sold at Walmart, Wiliams and Sonoma, Breadtopia, etc.

They're a double edged razor blade with a handle.  Happy hunting.
