For visitors our guest bedroom is always set and clean. When we had cats, I'd even keep that door closed. Always welcome family here wanting to escape winter for a while.

My mind can't even imagine that AT ALL! It just does not compute.
Can you imagine even DOING that to somebody else? Yeah, me either.

I don't entertain anymore and certainly wouldn't be happy to see somebody just show up at my house, unexpected or uninvited (so rude!). So I guess the answer for me is - nothing.
CHICKENBUTT, I have a serious question. What on earth does BOOOYAH mean? I must have asked a dozen people and they all say they don't know. It seems to go with a hand gesture, but even my teen grandchildren don't know what it's supposed to mean. Help, please???
P.S. I don't entertain anymore either, and hopefully no one will show up here expecting to be fed. Not gonna happen.

Hi Perkup! Beats me. Actually, I think it's kind of a 'BAM' word. Kind of like 'BOOYAH! Gotcha!' Does that make ANY sense?
But the entirety of the sig line was a line that the character Howard Wolowitz, on Big Bang Theory, said once and it was just so cute. He said it just like that, with the 'booyah' part louder than the first two words.

this is just me, but I use it like "in your face"- kind of mocking the losing team.

Oh, I think you're right, Nunya! That makes more sense. The phrase, that was a line in the tv show, was probably that sort of sentiment. For the life of me, I cannot remember the scenario surrounding it. Thanks!

Ha. I have a neighbor named Booyah. Actually, I'm not sure how he spells it, but his first name is actually pronounced just like Booyah. When he told me his name, I asked him if that was a nickname, but he said no, that was his real name. I felt funny for asking and hoped I didn't insult him when I smiled at his name. I told him that I thought it was an awesome name.
If someone visits me unexpected, all they get is perhaps a glass of ice water. I don't have things on hand for company. and I do not buy convenience type of foods for myself, let alone have it on hand for others. I suppose if someone visited and they were starving, I do have some homemade soups and such in the freezer. I could heat some of that in a pinch. But none of it could be considered "company" food.

What a delight to have a friend stop by! If they know me well enough, they only care to share a moment, and if we decide to break bread, that's pretty easy to do.
(bread=beer) Coffee works, too, and the pantry usually has some quick food if necessary. I enjoy socializing without all the posturing. Come as you are, and welcome in!

Cheese and crackers.
We always have a variety of each on hand. Trader Joe's has wonderful, affordable cheese and good crackers.
I also always have fruit on hand to put on a cheese board along with the cheese and crackers.
