What Do You Keep for Snacks?

With us it often boils down to:  EGGS!  We almost always have boiled eggs in the fridge for breakfast or a snack.

We also have on hand yogurt, fruit, Belvita cookies, peanut butter, nuts, cookies, and some sort of chocolate like dark chocolate squares or chocolates that you only are allowed one like See's candy.

Of course ice cream or something like pastries slip in occasionally, but the above are the standbys.

I'm sticking with my low carb way of eating and if I need a snack I also have hard boiled eggs.  In addition, I keep macadamias, pecans and almonds on hand and I enjoy fresh peanut and almond butter.

Apples, red & green grapes, mixed citrus fruits, mixed nuts, See's dark chocolates (1 is usually enough), and dry toast (oat/nut grains).

When I think of snacks think of potato chips, pretzels, candy, ice cream , all which aren't good for me.  I do admit once in awhile I indulge but for the most part I keep fruit in the refrigerator.  I love apples, grapes, blueberries, peaches and I do enjoy the choices.  I like walnuts also.

I am bad.  I snack on graham crackers, club crackers, Ruffles potato chips, cookies.   We do have bananas, grapes, yogurt, cheeses.  I like eggs but not just a plain boiled egg.  I want mine sunny side up or scrambled and for lunch.  I put boiled eggs in tuna or DH makes pasta salad with boiled eggs.

Mostly nuts and Smartfood White Cheddar Popcorn.  I will occasionally have some peanut M&M's or a little granola.

Re: What Do You Keep for Snacks?

On my good days, snacks are raisins, dried apricots, shredded coconut as well as a handful of sugar free oat cereal (Aldi sells an excellent Cheerio substitute)

on my bad days, There is ice cream.  I do the least calorie and cholesterol damage by buying the 1/4 pint cartons.  Definitely not the least expensive

@BirkiLady I truly believe the old thing about an apple a day.  When I worked I had one every day.  We agree about See's too!  And I do the squares of dark choc. when it's not a "treat" day! Woman Wink

I forgot popcorn!  We do have that pretty often with Celtic Sea Salt.  I think that white popcorn is better than the yellow.  It seems like the hulls are less noticeable and don't get in your teeth as much.

Re: What Do You Keep for Snacks?

How does everyone store their fruit?  I keep mine in the fridge (except bananas), but then I forget I bought it and they go bad.  My Mom always put fruit in the fridge, so I guess that is why I do it.  But others keep it in a bowl on the counter.  Doesn't it go bad faster?  But if it was out, I would see it and eat it.
