Another Jersey girl here. We say Pea-cans, in the part of Jersey that I'm from.

Central Jer-Z. Although, some say, Pea-Conn, when referring to the pie. 🥧

Also we don't say, Joisey, or Down the Shore. We live by the ocean 🌊 and we say, at the beach or going to the beach ⛱️.  The other is a North Jersey accent!

@Yahooey - I have a similar issue with "caramel."

I make my mother's famous caramels (car-mels) every December but use caramel (cair-uh-mel) sauce on my ice cream and pie.
