Sorry but in New Joisey we used ter say pea-cans.

Most people I know say "pe-CONS," but my grandfather who was from Kansas and lived in Missouri most of his life actually said "PEA-cons." I've never heard anyone else mix the two pronunciations like that.

Pecans - and we pronounce it "puh-cawns" with the accent on the second syllable.

Here in Philly, we say it like our Jersey neighbors.
If someone says pa conns here, it sounds like they're putting on airs. Much like if someone were to say vAHse for vase.
