Born in Jersey and living in New England for 50 years, I still say "ANT" too, You would never catch a Jersey girl saying "ONT:! Also, it's KAWFEE for the morning beverage

It's a regional thing.  I grew up in the Midwest and my mom always pronounced it PEA-cans.

I hear it pronounced both ways here in PA.  I always say pea cons, my siblings say pea cans.

Originally east coast.  I can't do pe CONS at all.
