Verry interesting!  I didn't even know that allrecipes.com had a 'channel'.  I do have some Rokus (love them!) so I'll have to search it out.  Mine are Roku3, so I hope they have that one.  Probably should, as the '3' has a lot of things that previous models don't have, channel-wise.  Smiley Happy

Hey Sooner!   (OT) - So, are you going to be prepared to drive out here with a moving truck to pick up all my Le Creuset pots when I'm on my way out?  Smiley Happy

This was from a previous conversation and I never got to respond before that thread died.     Come and get 'em!

just a red square on the screen that says 'all recipes'.

I got 5 Roku's, and 2 extenders and right now having trouble trying to get one to connect to my wifi network ! driving me crazy. sheesh what a pain. If I wasn't married I'd just have cable in all rooms and be done with it. I like to watch old Dark Shadows episodes though LOL

Re: What Cooking Show Do You Learn Most From?

Hey Sharke!    Yup, the reason I jumped in and got the '3' was because they had faster processors and more 'stuff'.   I'll check it out.

I actually DO have cable on all of my TVs, but I originally just got the Rokus for stuff like Amazon and Netflix.

Funny (or not) thing is, I also have two Tivos and  they also have Netflix and several other things.    But I find that the processor on the Roku3 is WAY faster and more efficient than that on the Tivos.

But my Tivos are over 4 years old and I actually just ordered one new model to put in the living room so I understand that the newer ones are also way faster.   Oh well - too much tech.  I can deal with that.  Smiley Happy

But the cool thing about the Roku3 is that it has the buttons to get me where I'm going faster, and when I want to use the earbuds those are more handy than my big ol' wireless headphones.

BTW, in case you don't know this - keep the earbuds UNPLUGGED from the remote when not in use.   I guess some folks were keeping them plugged in and it caused the remote to blaze through batteries.  If you don't do that the batteries in the remote last ages.  Smiley Happy

I have lots of friends who have pickups, 2-ton trucks, and even 18-wheelers they haul wheat and soybeans in.  So what kind of truck are we talking here?  (I know YOU!)

I'm off right now to update my GPS system. . . . ha ha ha!!!!  Or is it too soon/late???  LOL!!!

Re: What Cooking Show Do You Learn Most From?

Hey 'chickybutt' LOL do a 'search' for all recipes forgot to mention that.

I don't have Tivo's he won't pay the 20 a month. LOL I'm on SS I could, but, I spend to much at Q LOL We still have the VCR's from days of old we tape shows on. LOL

I don't use the earbuds, he does on occasion if I b*itch about him playing ballgames to loud. He'll run Yankees on on TV, Tx. Rangers, on another. About ready to lose what mind I got left. When he retires I'll go crazier then a poophouse rat.

Re: What Cooking Show Do You Learn Most From?

Are Roku's really pretty easy to operate?  I have been really tempted when I see HSN run a special on them (haven't checked elsewhere ffor them yet)

I do have an older smart TV but never really learned how to operate it.  Hence why I have been a bit hesitant on a Roku.  I would love to have access to Netflex just for movies and some old series.  I think the last movie I saw in a theater was at least 8 years ago so would have lots of material from which to pick.

It;s funny when I see others mention Sunny Anderson - you kind of wonder to yourself if her very loud, almost screeching voice bothers anyone else?  I have even thought about emailing The Food Network and requesting that she tone it down because it is very disruptive to the rest of the show.  Jeff is loud too but he is not as offensive as Sunny is for me anyway.  I have to believe that Sunny even gets to the other chefs on the show.

I didn't watch The Kitchen for a long time because of Sunny but then caught a few episodes where I found I really did enjoy so much of the rest of the show that I was not going to allow her to ruin it for me.  So I also use the remote when necessary or turn the volume way down during her screaming rants.

Amazing how many of us feel the same way - am almost surprised that Food Network hasn't addressed the issue as I have to believe there are some viewers out there who have complained already to them.
