Want Lunch...A $350 PB&J In Chicago.

A new restaurant in Chicago's West Loop called PB&J has a sandwich for a mere $350.00.  Now a portion of that goes to charity.

It is a loaf of toasted gold leaf encrusted bread, Adams All Natural PB, Maison Dutriez red currant jam and a drizzle of Manuka honey from New Zealand.  Oh, the jam is suppposed to be the most expensive in the world.  Evidently a goose quill is used to de-seed the jam.  Oh brother.

No thanks, I would rather just give the whole $350 to charity.  I don't need bragging rights that I spent that much money on a pb&j sandwich. My family would say I need my noggin examined and demand an MRI. lol

If you live in Chicago, enjoy.

Sounds like a clever PR move to me.  Here we are talking about it. I think it is kind of brilliant on tbeir part. I bet there will be news stories about it.

Let's see....whole wheat w/pumpkin seeds, Adams no salt-crunchy, homemade current jam-vintage 19, but no honey around.

If you know my door combination just leave the money on the table 😂

Just a regular ole PB&J was never my thing so I'll definitely pass on this one!

So that's why sanitation workers are seeing gold leaf in the sewage treatment plant.

No thanks. Manuka honey is awful. Had it when I was in New Zealand. I'll give my money to an animal charity.

I forgot to add you have to order it a day ahead.  I assume to give them time to make the gold encrusted bread.

What I want to know is what portion goes to charity?

@Goldengate8361 @CrazyKittyLvr2 I agree with Golden gate.  The price has nothing to do with the cost of the ingredients and everything to do with getting a footing in a competitive market.  This gimmick sounds way more effective than a BOGO.

Well, it IS a whole loaf of bread.  Smiley Very Happy    So, they make a sandwich out of the whole loaf or do they slice it up?  Enquiring minds...blah blah blah.  Smiley Wink

I don't like honey, anyway, so I'm out.   I like a nice, organic, whole grain bread with seeds with some Jif Creamy PB and Smuckers Simply Fruit Strawberry jam.  Perfection and costs way less than $1 per sandwich.  Smiley Happy

I do like the charity angle of it, so kudos there!  Seriously, if somebody wants to pay they will and there's nothing wrong with that.   Those of us who don't, won't.   It's all good.
