Walmart Grocery Pick-up

[ Edited ]

The are still poorly stocked but I've managed to get milk, flour and other things to ward off starvation.

Pick-up is a whole new world.  My store is only posting one day at a time and they change it and add the new day at exactly midnight.  Thursday is up for grabs now.  I just picked my time and had a choice of anytime but by morning the time slots will all be filled.

If you need things and don't want the human contact in the store you might try the free pick-up service.  Download their grocery app.  You can do a fake grocery list to see what they've got without commitment.  If you decide to place an order, pick your time and pay for the order immediately or you'll lose your time slot.  You can add to the order throughout the day.

I wanted to add, their order fillers pick the produce from the back storeroom and it's much nicer than what you find displayed in the store.

I did the same at Kroger today and everything came fresh and accurate.  It was easy.

I highly recommend the pick up at Walmart!  I will be picking up my second order from them this morning.  I too downloaded the app and their service is excellent!

Walmart is doing a terrific job for me!💕💕

How do I do this without a smart phone?? I don't have a smart phone!

I just tried to put some stuff in my cart and most everything I need is out of stock. My WM here is the most busy one in the city.

@SilleeMee   You can place your order online, but when you leave your house you need to sign in on your phone and they can track you and see when you arrive.  Then you call when you get there and let them know what slot you're in with your car.

You don't have to check in when you leave at other grocery stores, but you always have to call when you get there.  It might be worth it to buy an inexpensive phone at Walmart with a limited number of minutes to use for this.  My sister just bought one for her mother-in-law, and it was around $20 - $25.

@NickNack

I have a flip phone cell phone. I'm not going to buy a smart phone just to pick up food!

I have no idea how I can use this WM pickup service with a flip phone either.

@SilleeMee   You could use almost any grocery pick-up with a flip phone.  All you have to do is call them when you get there.

@SilleeMee , Hello, you're so helpful in the beauty forums, I wanted to chime in and offer you advice on Walmart grocery pickup!

Are there other stores around you, that you'd be willing to drive a little further to for pickup?  They may have more items in inventory than your closest (and busiest) store....You can change your pickup location from the Grocery home screen.  Maybe worth a try?

Also, as mentioned above, you can call the store when you get there.  No smart phone needed.  They have signs posted at the parking spots reserved for pickup, the store phone number is posted on them.  I imagine you could even call from home and tell them when you expect to be there, if for some reason you can't call from the parking lot.

I stay in my car and let the associate load the groceries for me.  They no longer require us to physically sign the device either, so plenty of safe distance.

I hope this helps, and I'm wishing wellness for everyone.

PS - I love grocery pickup and have been using it for over a year.
