We are thinking of ordering one....I was wondering if you make the ice cream recipes, and you freeze the leftovers, will it still have the same texture or will it turn "icy"..Making our own ice cream "healthy" is one reason for the purchase..Thanks..Smiley Happy

I THINK it would probably be fine if you eat it up in a few days. The stabilizers and junk that is in the commercial stuff, if what helps with the creaminess and makes it last longer. I haven't made ice cream in my 34 year old Vitamix but I do have an ice cream maker.I hope you find other uses for your new VM as it really is a wonderful machine. I use my old girl every day for smoothies and have made nut butters and ground up grains for flour. Would LOVE a brand new one but will wait.

Instead of using ice for my ice cream, I freeze fat free half & half in ice cube trays. Comes out great. You won't have time for it to get icy, because it's so good it will be gone in a few days.

I also tried a low fat mac & cheese recipe from Vitamix last night and it was amazing. Made the sauce in the Vitamix and just poured it over the cooked pasta. It was so creamy and used skim milk.
