I don't use my Vitamix nearly as much as I thought I would. It works wonderfully for making margaritas and smoothies but other than those drinks I really don't use it for much else.
I'm not ready to sell it but if I had to do it again I would have never purchased it. It was kind of an impulse buy and for my limited use a good blender would have served the same purpose.

I don't use mine nearly enough to have justified the price, but I will keep it for now. The last thing I used it for (and it worked wonderfully) was that I couldn't get the cream cheese lumps out of a cheesecake batter, so I poured it all in the VM and it was amazing - the smoothest cheesecake ever!

In the summer I puree fruits and serve them over ice cream, or make fresh fruit drinks from them. We agree that if ours quit we would buy another immediately.

We are at the end of the asparagus crop in our yard. I can take those overgrown tough woody stems and cook them up with onions in chicken broth. Pieces are cut to about 2 inches. Then I run the mixture in the Vita Mix and have perfectly smooth asparagus soup. You can eat it like it is for low calorie version or add milk or half and half for creamed soup.

I now use a Ninja set and I love it blender / food processor / individual cup. I had a Vita Mix several years ago (it went well beyond the warranty period before wearing out ) . I give kudos to the product & company.
In answer to your question -- I believe I have seen both company's reps & commercials do this . Place a good cut of beef -raw-( you can know what it is better than already ground meat ) and grind it with what you like. I use carrots--usually put them in first onions /garlic / nuts /seeds? you get the idea . We find it tasty.
@depglass I love cream of aparagus soup ! sounds good .

What a great idea depglass. I've just been throwing away those tough parts of the asparagus. I hate to do that as they're about 1/3 of each stalk. Now I'll be able to use them.

I haven't used mine in months. I have 2 cookbooks but most of the recipes don't appeal to me. I look forward to seeing how everyone is using it. The last few times I used it I made milkshakes. 😂

I bought it originally for smoothies and soups, but then I had to focus on cooked, warm foods so I don't really make smoothies anymore. I do make a lot of sauces, like enchilada sauce, stir fry, tomato based sauces, and curries. I bought an OXOX set of large silicone ice cube trays and in the summer I made batches of sauce that I can toss over my lunch that I heat in my mini-crock pot, something with a rice base, beans and veggies.
We have used it for mixed drinks as well, and we still use it for soups. My BF uses it to mix pancake batter.
