Re: Vanilla Shake Recipe help please?

Healthy and diet worthy....for a meal

I created this mylk shake meal for us when we are away from home for long periods of time so we don't have to eat junk food.  I blend and put in an insulated bag to keep the drinks cold.  It is filling, healthy, and a very tasty shake.  Also great to take to work for lunch.  Also fulfilling if you want to lose weight...have it for a meal, you will be satisfied☺️

2 scoops vanilla protein (I use plant based Orgain...you can get it at Costco or amazon)

1 cp soy milk

1 cup almomd milk

1/2 banana

1/2 cp frozen blue berries

handful of fresh organic spinach (you won't taste it)

several ice cubes

Re: Vanilla Shake Recipe help please?

I like oat milk best in the banana type shakes/ice creams.  I also like oatmilk (the brand Sams and Walmart sell in the blue plastic jugs--unsweetened) best in iced coffee.

Re: Vanilla Shake Recipe help please?

@Sooner   You are right...oat milk is good. I like it because it has a creamy taste.

Just a FYI if interested:  I do use the combo of soy and almond in our smooties because the cp of soy has 7 grams of protein and the cup of almond milk has less calories.

I do my best to keep us healthy and fit and don't bother with telling the details to my husband.  He just reaps the rewards 😉

So enjoy your Oat milk....it is a great alternative to the animal product, has 2 gr of fiber, and it tastes great!    I respect those for choosing the alternatives it is a healthier, happier choice and yummy!

@phoenixbrd Thanks for your mention, but I am not using oatmilk for reasons other than I like the taste in some things sometimes.  I am a big fan of milk and not so much of alternatives unless I like the taste better.

I avoid soy because of some issues associated with it, and don't really like almond milk.  But the oat really does have a great place in several things I use!  I am happy to have it.

@phoenixbrd had me nodding in agreement until I saw spinach. I think I'd notice it in my milkshake.

@AuntG   Try it....you will be surprised...add just a tiny amount, it will give you the courage to add more.  You won't taste it!  But if you choose to not walk on the wild side eliminate the spinach and try the drink if you want a healthy treat meal that tastes great and is great for you!😉

@Sooner  No problem...and yes, oat milk is delicious. I don't want to offend anyone.... that's why I usually preference my recipes with FYI if interested.   Enjoy your oat shake! 🥛cheers!

Re: Vanilla Shake Recipe help please?

I don't know about Mac D's milk shake, but I use these few ingredients for a low calorie vanilla shake:

Non fat milk.

A whole ripe pear, peeled and cored. Cut into chunks.

teaspoon vanilla

Few packets of sweetener to taste

A few ice cubes.

Put all in a blender.

The pear gives it a vanilla flavor.

I can also use frozen strawberries instead of pear and ice cubes for a different shake.
