Using my air fryer for more---

I have a 6 qt Instant Pot brand airfryer--have had it for 3 years or so and I do really like it--it has a window in the pan along with a light you can turn on during cooking---anyway have used it many times   a week . And with much success. Meatballs are amazing in it, so are the usual french fries/tots and veggies too. Bacon is good in it. Cooked an amazing turkey breast once --best ever! And it cooks frozen things really well too. But last night I threw in some sea bass, covered with fajita seasoning overtop, cooked it at 400* for 5 minutes--------------oh good gravy!!! Absolutely delicious and not one bit over cooked--we put it corn tortillas for fish tacos----wow!! so am going to do more things it---

My over range microwave shorted out yesterday and we immediately went to Lowes to replace it but installation isn't until March 6th. It'll. Be hard to be without it for over a week! Thank heavens for our Breville Air Fryer;we'll survive!

We have the Ninja double oven in the motorhome, we do not have an oven so this and the microwave are it. We love it. Does a great job for anything fried and because it is a double oven it also does a great job for baking/roasting.

Doesn't cooking bacon in it make a greasy mess?

I line the drip pan with reynolds wrap, which makes cleanup easier. Smiley Wink

@Icegoddess --No-- there is less mess than cooking in a pan on the stove top. Plus it's a confined area too--I can cook 5 strips of thick bacon at one time--which is fine for me and DD. I know alot of people cook bacon in the oven--I don't like that method--think it wastes a ton of energy plus not a fan of bacon smell that lingers--.there is the fat at the bottom of the rack but that's easy to pour off

Re: Using my air fryer for more---

I cook the majority of our meat in the air fryer now—the process is quick and simple, the results are great, there are no lingering odors, and cleanup is a breeze.

The odors are actually a big deal for us; our kitchen is right in the center of the house with no real ventilation, so we end up smelling bacon or smoke from steaks and chops for days when using the stovetop or oven, but with the air fryer, there's only a slight aroma, and after you tackle the minimal cleanup, everything smells fresh again.

I've known many people who hesitate to get an air fryer because they think it's just for frozen foods or snacks, but we rarely use ours for those things; in fact, we laugh about the fact that if we're making takeout-type food, we're likely to cook burgers in the air fryer and bake fries in the oven or put steaks or pork chops in the air fryer and spend the cook time making a big salad or other fresh sides because we don't have to babysit or worry about the proteins.  Smiley Very Happy

@loriqvc --I so agree!! I hardly cook pre packaged stuff in my airfryer--it's all fresh, unprocessed foods/meats. Now french fries and tots are pretty good in it---and most frozen meats are good in it too. Meatballs are amazing cooked in the airfryer--we had that last night for dinner---baked spuds are wonderful too. Have cooked fish that was good --got some sea bass that I did a few dyas ago and wow---it was really good and no fishy smell. --,roasted vegs is good and tried baking in it---once--not sure what I did  tho. Cooked a trukey breast in it that was one of the best I've ever done. Reheating in it is great too. I also have a Ninja outdoor grill that I use mostly for steaks and salmon because it is a fantastic machine and always get great results---and it's bigger so can do more on it. Yup---wouldn't give up my airfryer either!!

@wagirl - Oh, don't get me wrong—we love cooking fries and all kinds of potatoes in the air fryer! But if we want fries to go with burgers, we have a fairly small fryer, so we prefer to just bake a bunch of fries so we don't have to wait when the burgers are done.  Smiley Happy

Re: Using my air fryer for more---

I cooked salmon in the air fryer last night---put dijon mustard, s & p over top then some garlic powder, with a little avo oil for moisture--I always pat dry the fish/meat before too--so it will not steam cook. And it turned out very good!! I tend to over cook meats---not sure why--but I watched this like a hawk and also upped the temp to 400*--I usually cook that fish on my Ninja grill--to perfection all the time--but didn't last night. Delicious!!
