I need to steam veggies when I don't have a stove burner available. Something really convenient would be great so that I will stay on my doctor ordered healthy eating plan.
Looked at QVC's OKRA Silicone Microwave Steamer (K16176) but the food is cooked by the microwaves...not really steamed.
The Tupperware SmartSteamer says it actually STEAMS by blocking the waves from the food with a steel core in the bowl.
Does this thing really work?
This description is from their website...
-----------
It's one of our greatest innovations — true steaming in the microwave!
The ingenious design of the Tupperware® SmartSteamer blocks microwaves from cooking foods. Instead, microwaves are directed to the Water Tray below, causing the water to boil and the steam to rise for perfectly steamed foods.
-----------
Does anyone have this? Do you like it?
(If you are a Tupperware dealer, would you mind disclosing this in your comments, please.)
