@proudlyfromNJ You are right!!! I just looked up Jersey Fresh canned products and found it on Amazon. Where do you buy it? I have never seen it.

@PickyPicky3  They do sell them at Wegmans. No tomatoes these days taste like they did when I was young. When I buy corn I get it from the local farm store. It is still tasty thank goodness. Sorry, I misunderstood your post edited.

@PickyPicky3  Sorry, my mistake, just asked husband as he does the grocery shopping and he said Wegmans. He goes to both stores. And usually a couple times a week. I'll tell him to check our SR when he goes although ours is small.

@proudlyfromNJ No offense meant. Just some crossed communication. And the fact that I haven't been back inside a supermarket since the pandemic.

Speaking as Jersey tomato lover to Jersey tomato lover, pre-pandemic I could find the old traditional NJ tomatoes at tiny farm stands on the back roads of Salem and Cumberland counties. I don't know if they were the real thing or some version of today's "heirloom" tomatoes, but they brought back memories of eating a BLT in August. Those tomatoes were different from the ones in stores or at community farmer's markets. But it meant a commitment to a long drive.

I hope I soon can report finding Jersey Fresh crushed canned tomatoes.

@PickyPicky3  It's funny  if I check Instacart for my SR it has it. I'm going there for my vaccine Tuesday so will check it out. I also have not been in a grocery store since before the pandemic.

@PickyPicky3  I checked my SR and no Jersey Fresh canned tomatoes but they did have Jersey corn in the veggie dept. My SR is a small one.

Hi @proudlyfromNJ    I found the canned tomatoes in a ShopRite in my area. Not the closest one. Haven't bought them yet because right now I'm well-stocked.

Wegman's has a spaghetti sauce made with Jersey tomatoes called "Ethnic Cottage." Weird name, plus I like to make my own.

No problem finding corn, and it's quite good this summer. As much as I dislike the concept of GMO corn, I don't miss the worms you'd find occasionally pre-GMO.

Thanks again for letting us know canned NJ tomatoes exist.

No, I don't really want to know.  I'm sick and tired of shortages and empty shelves and "social distancing" and the rest of the garbage.
