Timing of Gourmet Holiday Shows

I always thought it strange to put these gourmet holiday shows on in the afternoons. After watching yesterday, I think I've discovered the method to their madness. That time is when my lunch is long gone, I'm ready for a cup of espresso...and a snack! Just about everything they showed is something I thought I needed.  Brownies, cookies, breads: oh my! I watched with my computer on ready to order and thoroughly enjoyed Pat & Mary as co-hosts; they're both so enjoyable and did very well together in my opinion. Looking back over the items presented yesterday and even though the prices did go up on some, as they said, still thinking. I'm so weak...but so far I'm safe Smiley Happy

@Carolina925   lol  makes sense to me, too.  I often want a pre-dinner snack.  I usually do not watch the food shows mostly because I try not to buy food in the quantities mas-market retailers need to sell to be profitable, but I really wanted those brownies yesterday and Pat and Mary together presented a good show.  I made do with a part of a KitKat bar and a glass of milk -  good and not so much chocolate left over.

Re: Timing of Gourmet Holiday Shows

Psychological and behavorial researchers have documented the well-known 3:00 pm Slump.  Our biological clock regulates our energy during the day, and that's the time we tend to slow down. We reach for a cup of coffee or tea and a snack to eat so we can be stimulated with energy again.  Even when we don't even realize it, we are looking for something to overcome that afternoon crash.

QVC's consistent 3:00 pm Gourmet Holiday, with hyper-exaggerated hosts yelling about food is their way of cashing in!  After all, what holiday occurs every single week? Smiley Very Happy They've had Gourmet Holiday every week, sometimes multiple days a week, for quite a while, and not just during the pandemic.

Every single thing QVC does is carefully calculated after extensive market studies.

That is the business they are in.  Every signing thing every for profit company does is calculated.  QVC is not alone in this.
