I have an Elite 8qt that I love. Do any of you own the smaller 4qt/5qt and find it to have any benefits over a larger one?I originally bought a CE 4 quart PC and to tell you the truth, it was kind of small to cook much of anything really. A lot of the meat that I went to cook had to be trimmed down to fit.
I upgraded to a 6 quart InstantPot over a year ago and never looked back. Things fit much better in it (and I cook for one). Had I had thought it through at the time, I would have purchased a 6 quart from the begininning.
I was watching the presentation of the 4 quart one on HSN earlier and it seemed like the perfect size for one person. Was it really too small?
Keep in mind that the maximum fill level should be no more than 2/3.

I have this pressure cooker from last year (or one very similar). Only used it a few times. The manual from the manufacturer is awful. It's hard to determine from the way the copy appears on the page whether the instruction is 1 cup of water or 1 cup of rice, for example. Who can I contact to have the manual explained? QVC can't help. How do I contact Meredith directly?
I want to use the cooker to adapt existing recipes and I still haven't figured out how to do that. The little cookbook that comes with it by Meredith has an Italian style pot roast recipe that include red wine and other ingredients that I wouldn't use. What happens if I just don't put them in? Will the pot roast come out as good?
I am confused.

I just looked at the recipe. Use what you want and substitute water or beef broth for the wine. The pot roast should come out good just not the exact same flavor as it would using the wine. Don't be afraid to experiment.

If you are new to pressure cooking, this is a site that I use quite a bit as I find her advice/recipes to be easy to understand and most helpful:
She may have answers to the questions that you are asking . . . hth!

Thanks for the Insta-Pot feedback. I'm leaning towards that one because of the stainless steel pot. It is good to know the 6qt is a good size for one.
We ended up getting the Instant Pot mainly b/c of the Stainless pot. The non-stick is not diswasher safe, spouse and I were really interested in the presentations on Sunday
@I checked out a 6qt @ Bed Bath Beyond today it is not as big as you'd think.
