I have never had a pressure cooker before -- it is hard to understand the directions and get the knack of it?  I m tempted.

Re: Today's TSV Pressure Cooker

Pressure cooking is a gift from the culinary Gods, especially to those that are squeezed for time but would still love to put a healthy, nutritious meal on the table for their family (I live alone but it totally works for me and my meal planning too).

The electric ones are super easy to use.  You couldn't pry mine out of my hands . . . do not be afraid! . . . Smiley Happy

Wish she would talk a little about slow cooker option. Does it have an auto shut off option?

Re: Today's TSV Pressure Cooker

I believe it does have the Keep Warm function.  Here is the link to the manual (Slow Cook is on page 19):

Re: Today's TSV Pressure Cooker

I'm like you but I finally took the plunge last year. These models that have the pre-sets make it easy.  I was nervous the first few times I used it but really went quite well. I find that I'm getting more confident every time I pull it off the shelf. Idid purchase Meredith's cookbook today. I had purchased Bob Warden's previously. This deal today is nice because you get two cookbooks. I was soooo tempted to order the pink and give mine to my daughter in law. Still thinking about it because this one has more presents than the model that I have.

I have an Elite 8qt that I love. Do any of you own the smaller 4qt/5qt and find it to have any benefits over a larger one?

Don't know for sure but it likely goes automatically into the keep warm function.

However once you get into pressure cooking, I suspect you'll not be interested in slow cooker function any longer. I gave my slow cooker away.

Re: Today's TSV Pressure Cooker

Go for it. It's a good price. Just go by the booklet that comes with it. Takes a little trial & error. My 1st one set in the cabinet for a long time before I used it. I did not have a clue. It makes yummy food fast. It takes the longer to pressure up & pressure down then it does to actually cook your meal.
