Pamelasue72, would you please post the recipe for your piecrust...I have a similar recipe but have lost it. Love the way it turns out every time. Since the pie making season is upon us I would love to have that recipe back again. Thank you so much.

I just can't eat those store bought crusts having grown up on my grandmas recipe handed down to my mom and then to me.
This is my grandmothers recipe

after I saw Ina Garten use a frozen crust to make a pie, I will keep using them too.....I also think the Betty Crocker pie crust mix is outstanding...far better than frozen but still requires rolling and mixing.

Sure! Here you go:
My mother-in-law gave me this recipe and I've used it for years. It's very easy and I don't have any problems with it. When I was making 20 peach or apple pies at a time, I used to triple or even quadruple the recipe.
Pie Crust
5 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups shortening
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 egg
Ice-cold water
Combine flour and salt; cut in shortening to make crumbs. Chill crumbs overnight.
The next day, beat the egg in a one-cup measuring cup. Add vinegar, then fill with ice-cold water to make one cup. Add to crumbs and combine thoroughly. Roll out dough for pies.
This recipe should make 6-7 pie crusts.

I just use the frozen & they are fine, but my friend always makes her own and told me that ice water is the key to a good flaky crust.

There are recipes for Impossible Pies that use Bisquick. I have 2 Bisquick Cookbooks.
I just found a recipe on line too! Bisquick doesn't sound like it would work for dessert pies- but I'm looking to make quiche.
