jaxs mom, would you mind providing the directions for...

your grandmother's pie crust recipe below that you posted in another thread on this forum? The butter used in it appeals to me. Thanks!

I just can't eat those store bought crusts having grown up on my grandmas recipe handed down to my mom and then to me.

This is my grandmothers recipe

  • 2 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 ½ stick butter, cold
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup lard or shortening, cold
  • 1 tablespoon white vingar
  • 6 tablespoons ice water

I posted it in the thread when someone asked. I'll have to go look and copy and past it here.

Here's a copy of the reply I posted yesterday

It's just standard pie crust directions. Cut the cold fat into the dry ingredients and then slowly add the liquids until the dough just comes together. This recipe makes two crusts, so separate into two pieces and wrap each in plastic wrap and let chill for 45 minutes and then roll out.
