This Thanksgiving I'm making....

[ Edited ]

This post has been edited by me, the OP.  I can see that my intention was not clear and I'd like to bring it to a crashing halt before it goes off the rails.

Oh I ALWAYS make both Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas dinners. I have for years and years. No big deal. I'm very organized so that helps. But this year my dil wants to do Thanksgiving. I don't know what to do with myself! Woman Surprised

Enjoy, you deserve it for cooking all of those years! You have to be organized, so everything gets done, and comes out at the same time. I've done it, and it is a lot of work.

@house_cat, I believe you will enjoy spending that time with family. I'm sure you can cut corners on some things and not have to get too stressed out. And you are right, it will be a special time.

Re: This Thanksgiving I'm making....

Who elected you?  I know what I'd do. I'd do Thanksgiving because I don't know when everyone will be getting in THEN once they're all gathered I'd graciously offer the loan of my kitchen to whomever wanted to fix Christmas dinner!

'course Christmas dinner for us can be comprised of make ahead dishes.  Lasagna and Swedish meatballs keep well when frozen ( the tough part is to not eat them all before they're cool enough to freeze!)  Add a spiral ham and it's Quick Easy Done.

It'll be fine.  a little Christmas Chaos is memories in the making.
