had asked about the big oval shaped pressure cooker. I've had this one for yrs. Now, I see it's made a come back.

@SharkE :Thanks for posting. What a surprise.?♥️. Have you ordered the red? I have it in my shopping cart but really running out of storage space. I love the oval shape for ribs and bigger items. The previous oval that I had lasted only a few years but used it at least twice a week.

I have the old 6 quart oval pressure cooker and it has three pressure settings, the highest being 15psi. This unit on high is 10psi which is making me hesitate from ordering.
I would appreciate pro/con input about the 10psi to help me decide if this unit is for me.

@Marp : I hope that I didn't make a mistake. I just ordered this for the shape and didn't check the psi. Now to find a place to put this when not using. I don't have a lot of counter space.

@SouthernBee, I doubt you will find this unit to be a mistake. My question about it only being 10psi is mostly me being picky.
In reality, according to my research, cooking at 15psi is faster than at 10psi by minutes; not enough difference for what I cook to be a legitimate concern.
The primary negative I've found (I do not know if it applies to this unit) is that manufacturers often lower the high pressure psi as a cost saving measure as they are then able to use lighter weight materials.
Although the cost is significantly higher there are two or three oval pressure cookers listed on Amazon that I will evaluate before I make a final decision.
ETA: The oval shape is my obsession. I have a 2 qt round and a 4 qt round which I use for eggs and vegetables but when doing anything of size give me the oval. I have a thing about the idea of putting a whole chicken or pork loin in a round pressure cooker. So much easier in the oval, especially getting the cooked meat out intact.

I used to have the 8 qt. oval but it died after only using it a few times. To make matters worse, I had food cooking in it at the time.
I ended up sending the lid, rubber seal and liner to a poster on these forums who needed a spare.
I vowed to never buy anymore Cooks Essentials products. i have never had any luck with their electric items or their cookware.

@Carmie I had one and gave it away because it was so heavy and bulky. One thing about chickens, it seems to me that most of the ones I buy now days are more round than long like they used to be.
Maybe it's just where I shop. . .

I have the Cook's Essential original oval PC that I'm still using. I love the oval shape and so glad they've decided to bring it back. If and when I need to replace my old unit, I'll be back for this one.

@Marp : Thank you and I totally agree and understand. I was looking back at my notes. The pressure cooker lasted 1 1/2 years and I could not find replacement parts . I needed the pressure valve, steam vent and gasket. I swore that I would never purchase another cook essentials product because I had issues with the cookware and bakeware and I am very careful with my stuff. So like the ole saying : " Never say never". I used it for ribs, corn on the cob, turkey breast, ham, chicken, Mac n cheese and boiled peanuts, corned beef and cabbage. I still have Bob Wardens (sp) pressure cook book. DH just said that I probably needed to order another one for replacement parts but mercy where can I store it?
