Hi Y'all: I just tried to post a question about this oval pressure cooker: What is the model and serial number and will replacement parts be available? The response: choose another nick name ?? Plus noticed the price has increased since placing my order.
Up date: Was finally able to post my question and requested that an extra insert be available for purchase for multiple uses.

I will make a general comment about pressure cookers not to point it toward an individual, or argue about what's best, but to share my experiences.
Up until Instant Pots came out we had had an old bobble head type Presto, a stovetop ******or, and stovetop Fisslers (which actually work well if you need stovetop).
When the multi cookers came out, we had old 8 qt oval one from QVC which was so heavy it was a pain, Cuisinart (terrible to try to get the lid to seal) and ******or--again rated highly. All of them difficult to get the lid on and/or the settings the complicated to use--you had to fiddle with them!
I avoided the IP's for hears because of bad experiences but finally bought one and was delighted. It is the only one I've had that the lid goes on securely, it is easy to use and works well and has for years. We use them at least twice a week, sometimes more especially the 3 qt for the two of us.

@Sooner : Sometimes I have trouble getting the Instant pot lid on and off.

@SouthernBee I am sorry and surprised to hear that. I just line up the little triangles and slide the lid on both of ours and they just click into place.

Thank you but it's me with operator error. So many days that I just struggle trying to do stuff between my bad eyes and arthritis hands. I just keep doing and trying and refuse to give up. I am very slow and just thankful and appreciate that I can purchase my kitchen toys that make things better.🤗♥️

@Carmie wrote:I used to have the 8 qt. oval but it died after only using it a few times. To make matters worse, I had food cooking in it at the time.
I ended up sending the lid and rubber seal to a poster on these forums who needed a spare.
I vowed to never buy anymore Cooks Essentials products. i have never had any luck with their electric items or their cookware.
@Carmie I had one and gave it away because it was so heavy and bulky. One thing about chickens, it seems to me that most of the ones I buy now days are more round than long like they used to be.
Maybe it's just where I shop. . .
@Sooner I laughed when I saw read your post, but you are so right. The chickens are round and plump.

@Sage04 Well thank you! A few years ago I noticed my oval Le Creuset pot was full in the middle and not at the ends of chickens. And they fit perfectly in the round ones.
I guess chickens aren't watching their figures either these days! ![]()

@SharkE- It may have been me. I've been asking QVC for this size and shape PC for a long time. I have the 8 qt. Technique hard anodized PC that QVC offered over a decade ago. It is a work horse and I love it. The non-stick is wearign out on the bottom so it's time to replace it. Mine is very heavy including the insert itself. The lid has two handles that snap onto the cooker. The insert has handles on each side that the lid snaps onto to close. What concerns me about the one they are offering now doesn't appear to have insert handles. How do you remove the insert? I don't want to always remove the food while the insert is in the cooker and I will have to remove it to clean it. That's what is holding me back from ordering. I have some arthritis in my hands so I don't want to make things harder for myself. This was never addressed in the 2 presentations I saw. Your thoughts on this? TIA
