Last Thanksgiving, my store had a huge sale on Butterball turkeys. I bought one for our holiday and put one in the freezer. It's already been sitting there longer than I'd like, so I decided that I'd cook it this Sunday. My family comes for dinner every Sunday, and I think they're going to be quite surprised to find it's Thanksgiving in July.
I'm not sure why I find it so unusual to be cooking a turkey in July, but it really feels weird. Does anyone else here cook turkey throughout the year?

Yes my family purchases extra hams and turkey's in November and December and keep them in the freezer. When we have a turkey remaining during the summer we cook it on the grill and eat Turkey all week. During the warmer weather while we cook Turkey we don't eat the traditional Thanksgiving sides as those are too filling. Instead opt for lighter sides.

We do!
Either the whole turkey or a bone-in breast with all the fixings, some meals are good anytime of the year!

Yes. My motto is "any day is a good day for a turkey and stuffing sandwich". We eat turkey throughout the year. And it's always served with stuffing and cranberry sauce.

I personally don't eat any animal products, but I don't think it's at all weird for someone who wants to eat turkey throughout the year. If you like turkey, eat it whenever you like. Why wait for only once a year.

No because we dont like turkey. But I do fix other traditional holiday food such as cranberry salad, sweet potatoes, etc. because they are too good to only have once a year.

We have eaten turkey at other times of the year. I prefer just the turkey breasts in a crockpot but I have done a whole one. Generally if it's in the summer we will use the turkey fryer outside rather than have the oven on for many hours. We enjoy it but don't have it often. Thanksgiving is a must and one other time during the year is about it.

I cooked a full turkey dinner in every July when my girls were young. It was complete Thanksgiving type dinner that we ate out on the deck in shorts and tees.

We always buy 2 when they're on sale in November, and just cook the other one whenever we like! This year, we had it at Easter instead of our traditional ham.
