We started collecting Temptations in the woodland taupe. After buying lots of it, we now watch the Temptations presentations and wish we could order! Because almost nothing is made in the woodland taupe now!! But tonight, there is a NEW color...green! Why is the taupe being shut down? You might have told us that that color was going to be limited and we might have chosen some other color! Very, very disappointing after hundreds of dollars spent. Never again. Those of you rushing to buy the new green beware, unless you don't mind mismatched items. Thanks a bunch, Tara.

Several years ago, I started collecting the floral lace in cobalt blue with brown trim......now they don't make it with the brown trim which is what caught my eye in the first place....plus I have lots of streaks on the inside and outside on some of the bakeware (was told it was internal cracks)....I'm also done with Temptations for this reason.....

Have you tried eBay or Etsy for pieces?

This is common for patterns to be discontinued. It is done with shoes, appliances, bakeware, etc. Be careful what you wish for.....

I don't know if anyone here is familiar with the Henn collection. It was made in Ohio, double fired, etc. I began collecting these in the cranberry color. Well, they went out of business before I was done getting all my dishes. About 5 years ago my husband got really excited, he had a birthday surprise for me and told me not to go in the garage. I thought it was a treadmill. I walked out and the entire, 2 car garage, was covered with 300 pieces of Henn. I was shocked. Someone locally was getting rid of it and he got a great deal. Now I have enough pieces to give each of my children a serving set of 12, plus extras.

Then, he started buying pieces off Ebay. I told him to stop, I have enough.

Anyway, @KG60 , try Ebay.

Re: Temptations let down

[ Edited ]

Sales were probably low and didn't make sense to continue to produce.  I think white and gray are always going to be around - those seem to be the popular colors.  Maybe buy pieces in another coordinating color?  I have white Mikasa everyday dinnerware but also use my mom's collection of Harker pottery small plates and bowls.  It will still look good if everything doesn't match exactly!

Nice reply.  The OP never stated it was a first world problem.
