The wire racks & lids are of equal importance to me and what sold me on TT in the first place. Of course, the style and variety of pieces keep me coming back for more. But, LOVE my wire racks.

I like the wire racks, especially when serving company. I think they look cleaner and nicer than setting the dishes out on potholders or towels. I also like them for moving the hot dishes from one place to another. I agree, they are hard to store.

I agree, Shogirl! I also use them when I carry a dish in the car...that way I don't have to take potholders with me. I store my Temp-tations in their racks, but I don't have a whole lot of pieces---maybe eight, total?

I've changed my opinion about these wire racks. In the beginning I thought they were unnecessary but I repurposed them for other uses in the home. Then the family dinners started for the holiday and I was reaching for them to have everyone carry the food into the dining room. I also kept reading more and more comments about the cracking of the larger dishes and re-thought how I was using the dish. Tara usually always takes the hot dish from the oven to the wire rack. Now, that's how I use them most of the time. I find that it allows the dish to cool enough to store safely in the refrig. Most of the wire racks are universal sizes so I only keep one of each size stored with the dishes. The others I have elsewhere.

I pitched mine to the curb, plus they were just getting dusty. I sit my hot dishes on silicone trivets just like the other person said. Works fine for me.

I store my TT in the wire racks, just stacked. I always use them for serving.

Totally agree Hon1. I have always thought that. It is hard to find room to store the items with those racks. I was thinking about tossing them. I dont use the racks much anyway. Plus having them gone (clutter) would be a relief. Iam glad Iam not the only one who thought that way, so thank you for that!

I think they're really handy- especially when it's a standard shape wire basket. You can use them with your pyrex and corning dishes also!

Tara has noticed these complaints because there are now sets without racks and sets that only some pieces have racks.

The real problem for me is that I sometimes order the same set in several patterns/colors, and then I have racks upon racks. I can't store most racks in the kitchen with the sets, as they take up too much room, so I have them hung on pegboard type hooks in the basement, but even that is now out of control. I hate to get rid of them, in case I sell or give away the dishes at some point, but they have to be a big pain for people with very limited storage space.

i use the racks for my temptations AND have used extras to make gift baskets or to use them in the bathrooms for hand towels.

Same here! So many different uses for them besides what they are intended for and they do make a table look so much better, IMO, when used with the baker. I have several pieces that I use just storing them in the cabinet and the others are in a box inside the pantry. Have no problem and they are there when I need them!
