This was my first ever Temp-tations purchase. I just received it today and I love it, but one of the round containers had the locking tab torn off of the top when I opened the box. I am sending it back and getting a replacement. Hope I have better luck with the replacement. I ordered the Old World cobalt blue and I really love the color. Anyone else had trouble with this TSV?? This has also made me want to get the Old World cobalt blue dinnerware. Saw it during the TSV presentation sitting on the same table with the TSV and I loved it!

Just for future reference, if you have a piece or two of a set arrive broken or damaged, just contact Temp-tations customer service directly 1 800 442 8677 and they will ship you out just the piece(s) you need, at no cost. Saves time of returning and waiting for replacement and taking the chance it will sell out before transaction is complete.

Thank you for taking the time to let me know this. That is really good information. I have been having a hard time getting anyone to respond about this TSV. It's like nobody wants to talk about it. I posted on other forums and if I did get a response it was to tell me to buy lock & lock, not Temp-tations. Thank you for giving me valuable information. Would you recommend the dinnerware? I have had people on these forums to tell me to save my money!

Same exact thing happened to me! They were really pretty, but it seemed like it wouldn't be long before they all started snapping off. I did not re-order them when I returned them.

I love lock and lock, and own many pieces. But honestly, the last two sets of L&L I purchased had to go back, as they aren't what they once were either. Both sets leaked, and I'm thinking they have been cheapened to the point they are no better than other brands now.

I got a set of the TT TSV and they arrived fine. They, too, leak water, but not as bad as the L&L's that I returned. I think they are pretty (I got fireworkfetti) and want more sets, but because they didn't even come close to selling out, I'm going to wait because I think they might clearance them out or do a free shipping thing like they have with the TT grocery totes. For less money, I'll buy more sets, but waiting for a price break.

I have the original TT dinnerware purchased when it was first presented as a TSV. I have to say, it isn't one of my favorite TT items. I got bored with it after just a few years, and that is not like me. I have many sets of dinnerware, some going back 3 generations in my family and I never tire of them. I think it didn't help that they crazed in short order, especially the mugs and the plates. The only pieces I've never had trouble with are the cereal bowls. I have started buying solid dinnerware to help offset the busy pattern of the Old World. I do like OW and have many sets in brown, green, blue, yellow, spice, harvest and a little cranberry. I have just come to appreciate the table set with solid dishes to compliment the patterned OW bakers.

I love TT, and have enough for 10 kitchens. It's my guilty pleasure. All I can say about whether or not to dive in is to realize that this line is not top notch stoneware (as the pricing will tell you). If you like the colors and patterns, I find it worthwhile because it does have a good warranty, and within one year (oftentimes more than that) TT will replace any piece that fails. Sometimes they make you pay shipping, so I wait till I have several pieces that need replaced. It isn't exactly poor enough quality to call it "throw away" ceramic, but don't expect it to last a lifetime (like Pyrex and Corning) either. I didn't throw out my Pyrex and Corning, and still use them often as well. I just find this fun, and get lots of enjoyment out of having such pretty (to me!) bake and serve ware.

I would recommend choosing a set that speaks to you, use it for the 30 day period, and if you don't think you like it's performance and quality, sent it back. I love that about Q.

Hope some of my rambling is helpful.

You have helped a great deal. I understand where a lot of this pattern could be overwhelming. I never thought about it just seeing a few of the OW colbalt blue pieces. I really like them, but it would get a little busy having a whole table full of OW pattern. I really appreciate the honesty about the quality. I think it is great to have a guilty pleasure that you enjoy but don't take so seriously that you overlook that there may be flaws with it. I have heard from people that are too critical about it to people that are offended that anyone would mention there might be a problem with Temp-tations. I just needed storage pieces because my old Tupperware is so worn out that the tops don't seal anymore. I will be glad just to get some storage bowls that close!! Thanks again for your very thorough review, I appreciate all your information. I still might have to get some OW and use it to decorate with, a few pieces here and there!

I hear you about the worn out Tupperware. That used to the "the" thing for storage, but unfortunately, even they aren't making the products the way they once did. And they are so expensive, almost ridiculously so. I still have lots of the good Tupperware from the 1970's and especially love the Servalier line, with those push down in the center lids. I think they are the best Tupperware ever made.

I really do like the new TT snapping lock plastic containers, and perhaps they will make some bigger sizes, as I really need some big sizes like used to be offered in the L&L's.

Betsy:

Are you aware that Tupperware containers carry a lifetime warranty? You just have to contact one of us, and upon receiving your old warranted items, you will receive replacement seals and/or containers. If your Tupperware containers are no longer available, you will receive comparable replacements. When we replace obsolete containers, we replace with containers of similar size, capacity or purpose.

Most times, when I have a request for older containers where the seals no longer 'seal', I replace both the container and the seal, since often the newer seals don't seal well on older containers.

Don't get me wrong - not knocking L&L type containers. I have and use MANY L&L products.

Deadeye Daisy,

I had no idea!!! Thanks for letting me know that. I didn't get the idea you were knocking the containers, just giving out important information. Thanks for taking the time to let me and others know this, that is why I really enjoy asking questions on these boards. Most of the time everyone is very helpful and has really good input or insights. Thanks again!

Love my new T.T,T.S.V, they don't look so small, I think these are better looking than the 2013 T.S.V. I am keeping my set, I was thinking about giving a gift, think I will wait if price goes down or shipping! I wish Q. would reduce shipping cost from the Post Office,Sure Post.
