I always use metric measurements and use my Kitchenaid sift and measure attachment.
Every thing thing turned out well until my DH decided he wanted to sample one. I told him to eat one that was smaller than the rest. When he bit into it he screamed.and spit it out.
He said, "what is in this? " showed me a black thing. I thought maybe my raisins clumped together, but no, it was the hub screw from my Kitchenaid mixer. It must have fallen into the cookie dough when I removed the sift and measure attachment and I didn't notice.
I didn't know it was missing, but I am happy he found it for me. I feel bad that this happened to him, but thankfully, I am happy that it didn't happen to anyone else.
Scheech. I am not gonna live this one down.
Told you, told you, people don't listen to me, but, those KA mixers are a piece of ****. Crying shame, they used to be the top of the line, now, they have cheapened out. Pretty paint jobs on the outside.
Hope he didn't cause damage to his teeth or need a new crown.
My mixer is at least 40 years old. It is not junk. Mine is still top of the line and it's not a pretty color. It's the color almond, which is no longer available anymore. When I bought mine, there were only two colors..white and almond.
It was my fault, when I loosened the screw to remove the attachment, I should have tightened it up again.
good thing it's one that was made long ago. Check the threads on the screw might be worn out. The NEW mixers are the ones that people report the most trouble with.
You must not be in the group daily. I've always said that the OLDER mixers were made better way back when. It's the new ones that have lost their reliability even though they still charge a lot for them.

Funny story. My sister and I , both, bit into a McDonald's french fry that was hard and broke off a piece of crowns in both our mouths.
That ********* french fry cost us both 1,000 a piece. Think of the gold I could had bought with that !

Sorry to get a laugh out of your crockpot & baking soda near-disaster, but it's an amusing post about cooking pitfalls
Good that your husband found a quick solution.
My reaction would have been somewhere between panic and sheer terror at all that foam.
When I mess up in the kitchen these days, I'm known to resort to uttering some nasty unprintable words, too. No kids around anymore to get their ears burned by Mom, thank goodness.

If you got compliments on the cinnamon scallops. why not share the recipe? Sounds downright interesting, because I'm tired of this virus-thing and all the routine cooking required.
Always looking for something new!
Plus, I see recipes these days that call for adding cinnamon to many unlikely dishes where it's not expected but is said to enhance flavor.

just make sure you type it out. I go to all the trouble of trying to scan something out of a magazine that I paid 10 for and QVC poofs it.
I scan it, print it out, try 5 different ways to upload it , take to an online image editor to enlarge it for all to see. Another person takes a picture of it and uploads it in enlarged form and QVC deletes it all in one fell swoop.
Makes me livid ! From now on I'm typing it out by hand they can figure it out if it's got anything to do with infringement. Not gonna be able to figure it out from my end !
