Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

[ Edited ]

@wismiss  Thank you for your insightful comment.  Not all think and see comments as benign.  I have read so many harsh, nasty comments posted on the QVC blogs.  Not here, that's why I mostly comment here, its my safe place, lol.  I'v seen comments posted that received the rage of another poster, its like someone goes out of their way to read something that's not there, or its of different opinion, and then other posters continue the rage.   Bloger's are not the only one's, family member's/friends? can be just be as cruel, someone just looking for an opening to attack.   Just tying to stay above the fray, good manners always wins, just my opinion and other opinions I keep to myself, lol.   Love Texas and Melania's shoes, not an opinion, just a fact, lol.

Fiesta collection

A new posting on Pinterest that I just received today.  Isn't this so colorful?  The practical side of me is saying "Who does all the dusting that this would need?"

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

luvGodUSA, I have to agree.  This is the best thread for people being supportive and not critical.    I, too, have posted what I thought was a benign post and all of a sudden am receiving this real critical post that has picked apart each word/phrase and interpeted it in a totally different way than what I meant.  Even though I am hurt, I just ignore those type of posts as sometime I think that is what that type of person wants----your reaction so they can respond unkindly again and then it just becomes a vicious cycle, and there is no way someone like that is going to even think about what you post.  They just react rather than think.Oh, well, enough of that.  Have a good Holiday weekend.

Hello Fiesta Fans.  Would like to share what my thoughtful husband did, he came home with a White Fiesta Mug, decorated with paw prints and it says "All my children have paws".  It made me laugh, because I do treat my dogs like little humans.  He's a keeper.

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Just read on Facebook that claret and tangerine are being retired this year. Can't believe claret is leaving after one year. It's one of my favorite colors!

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Apple Crisp:  I think there were some other colors retired after about a couple of years, but some were exclusives.  For instance, sapphire was exclusive to Bloomingdale's and was produced for the years 1996-1997.  (From Post-1986 Fiesta® Dishography).  If you haven't seen this chart before, google it and you will be amazed at the information that is available there.  But, I do wonder about a one year run of a color.  I'm wondering if the production cost for that glaze was more than the average cost.  It had been discussed at one time that people wanted like a bubble gum pink, but it was determined that the cost of the glaze was too much so they haven't made it as one of their colors.

It doesn't surprise me about tangerine since poppy has come out.  I was wondering about next year's color just a couple of days ago.

Thanks for sharing the news.

Lenox cups.jpgOrdered this for a friend, she is into cute dainty things (have not received yet).  This is from the QVC Lenox site, Butterfly Meadow Cup set,   Also, thought it might coordinate with my Fiesta Rose Pink Sugar Bowl.  May order this set for myself, but will wait and see her set first.  Also QVC has Lenox Butterfly Heart plates, don't ask me to post a photo, this is my first attempt at image posting and can't recall how I did it, lol.

@Apple Crisp

My favorite is claret as well.  It is just the right shade.  I love it with sage.  Perfect for this time of year too. I bought a bunch of the claret salsa bowls.  I use them for everything.  Love the shape.  I think it is one of my favorite pieces, except for a few old-vintage pieces!

Hi all, sorry I havent been around.  I miss you!!!  I am just swamped, between care taking my brother and mom, and my RA and back, I am not to conversational.  Lol.  I have done a lot of gardening this past spring and summer.  Putting in a fall veggie garden.  Takes what is left of spare time.

I have the heart shaped bowl in 2 sizes.  I love them..  I bought one  in flamingo for my youngest granddaughter when they first came out.  It is her cereal bowl!

i also have one in lemongrass and turquoise. Stored away somewhere.

You can bake in those as welll.. We baked Valentine brownies, and I did cornbread once. They bake perfect.
