Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

I hope all of you in the heat are doing ok. @shoekitty I can't imagine dealing with the heat and bad air from the fires near you. Would make it hard to breath for some people I imagine. It got to 85 at my house today so I felt like a slug. Anything over the high 70's and I have problems. (My autoimmune condition doesn't deal with high temps very well.)

@wismiss I'm sorry to hear that your brother had an emergency trip to the hospital. You both are in my thoughts.

All the talk about blueberries makes me want to make some blueberry muffins or a quick bread but its too hot to bake anything. Its one of the reasons I don't like the hot summer months...I never feel like cooking.

My ladybug set came from Dillards and is so cute! Makes me happy to use them. @Meezerpleezer...this purchase is all your fault you know!

Has anyone seen the fiestaware tortilla warmer that I thought was supposed to be available in June?? They have mentioned it on the always fiesta website. But I haven't seen it mentioned on any of the normal retailers or on the HL website. They only place I can find it, oddly, is on Wayfair where it said unavailable the other day and now says expected 09/07. So strange!

@RainGirl  Glad you love the ladybugs.  I really like them, too.  I can't find the tortilla warmers on the Fiesta site so I sent them a FB post about them.  Hopefully, it won't be long until we get a response.  They are usually pretty good.

@RainGirl  Funny to be responding to my own post.  However, I thought that it made sense considering HL answered our questions about the tortilla warmer:

"The Tortilla Warmers have been slated for a fall release, so they will be coming soon! They will be available in Sunflower, Turquoise, Scarlet, Lapis, and Lemongrass."

@kutira  You are making me smile this morning. Our favorite colors have long been retired.  HL is trying to "help" us move forward into the new color schemes  and we are having none of it.  Fortunately, dishes fast has thirty percent off at the moment until the beginning of September.

This is HL (dressed in blue) trying to push some of us into buying the new colors, but some of us just aren't having anything to do with it and have dug our heels in.

@wismiss  That's true.  How is your brother doing?

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

Thank you for asking, Meezer.  My brother is doing OK.  He goes back to the oncologist a week from Monday.  I'm going to go down one day this week and teach him how to make beef tips and noodles.  He has never cooked-----in fact, he fried eggs for the first time the other morning.  He can do everything else but just "can't get into that cooking", as he says.  He hired someone last week to clean, etc.  He is very good about eating what the nutritionist says he should, all except for vegetables, so I told him to buy fresh vegetable trays in the smaller size.  I am closer, now that I've moved, but I went down there Sunday and again Monday and I was wiped out for the rest of the week.

I have an appointment August 11 at the Spine Clinic at the University of Wisconsin.  It's with a P.A. I imagine we'll go over the MRI.

Re: Still Buying Fiestaware (aka Fiestaware thread, Part 2)

@wismiss  Isn't funny how some men never learn or want to learn how to cook?  Before I leave to visit my Dad, I have to make some food which DH will eat while I am gone.  He opens cans of vegetables to go with it.  At least he hand washes all of the dishes so I am not complaining.

It seems positive to me that your brother is trying to learn and do all that the doctors have asked of him.

Good luck with your appt. with the spine PA.

Fiestanistas--I forgot to post something about dishes fast.  Liz is moving on or around labor day weekend, hence she is unloading her stash.  You may want to check it out especially those colors that are discontinued.
